We have heard with our ears, O God,
Our fathers have told us,
The deeds You did in their days,
In days of old:

You drove out the [b]nations with Your hand,
But them You planted;
You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out.

З мого серця ллються приємні слова, я розповідаю Цареві про свої діла; мій язик — перо скорописця.

For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword,
Nor did their own arm save them;
But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance,
Because You favored them.

Твоя врода перевершує красу людських синів, ласка розплилася на Твоїх устах. Тому поблагословив Тебе Бог навіки.

You are my King, [c]O God;
[d]Command victories for Jacob.

Пов’яжи на стегна Свого меча, о Могутній, — зі Своїм квітучим виглядом і красою;

Through You we will push down our enemies;
Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us.

натягни тятиву лука і нехай щастить Тобі: царюй задля правди, лагідності та справедливості, і Тебе дивовижно поведе Твоя правиця.

For I will not trust in my bow,
Nor shall my sword save me.

Народи впадуть перед Тобою, о Могутній, Твої стріли вигострені — в серце ворогів царя.

But You have saved us from our enemies,
And have put to shame those who hated us.

Боже, Твій престол навіки-віків, скіпетр Твого царства — це скіпетр справедливості.

In God we boast all day long,
And praise Your name forever. Selah

Ти полюбив праведність і зненавидів беззаконня, тому помазав Тебе, Боже, Твій Бог олією радості — більше, ніж друзів Твоїх.

But You have cast us off and put us to shame,
And You do not go out with our armies.

Смирною, алое і касією духмяніють Твої ризи у величних Твоїх палацах зі слонової кості, в яких Тебе розвеселили.

You make us turn back from the enemy,
And those who hate us have taken [e]spoil for themselves.

Дочки-царівни — у Твоїй славі, і цариця, одягнена в чудові позолочені шати, стала по Твоїй правиці.

You have given us up like sheep intended for food,
And have scattered us among the nations.

Послухай, дочко, поглянь, прихили своє вухо: забудь свій народ і дім свого батька,

12

You sell Your people for next to nothing,
And are not enriched by selling them.

бо ж Цар забажав твоєї краси, адже Він є твоїм Паном!

13

You make us a reproach to our neighbors,
A scorn and a derision to those all around us.

І йому з дарами поклоняться дочки Тира, — перед Твоїм обличчям складатимуть прохання найбагатші з народу.

14

You make us a byword among the nations,
A shaking of the head among the peoples.

Уся слава її, дочки царівни, — в ній самій; вона одягнена в прегарні шати із золотим мереживом.

15

My dishonor is continually before me,
And the shame of my face has covered me,

А за нею до Царя приведуть дівчат, — до Тебе приведуть її подруг.

16

Because of the voice of him who reproaches and reviles,
Because of the enemy and the avenger.

Їх приведуть веселими та в захопленні — їх уведуть до палацу Царя.

17

All this has come upon us;
But we have not forgotten You,
Nor have we dealt falsely with Your covenant.

Замість Твоїх батьків у Тебе народилися сини. Ти їх поставиш володарями над усією землею.

18

Our heart has not turned back,
Nor have our steps departed from Your way;

18

Вони будуть згадувати Твоє Ім’я в кожному роді й поколінні. Тому народи славитимуть Тебе повік і навіки-віків.
