    Give ear to my words, O Lord,
    Consider my [b]meditation.

    Give heed to the voice of my cry,
    My King and my God,
    For to You I will pray.

    Höre doch, HERR, was ich dir sagen will, verschließ deine Ohren nicht vor meinem Seufzen!

    My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
    In the morning I will direct it to You,
    And I will look up.

    Du bist mein König und mein Gott, zu dir schreie ich, dich flehe ich an!

    For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
    Nor shall evil [c]dwell with You.

    HERR, schon früh am Morgen hörst du mein Rufen. In aller Frühe bringe ich meine Bitten vor dich und warte sehnsüchtig auf deine Antwort.

    The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
    You hate all workers of iniquity.

    Denn zum Unrecht kannst du nicht schweigen. Die Gottlosen duldest du nicht in deiner Nähe:

    You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
    The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

    Wer dich hochmütig verspottet, den stößt du von dir. Wer deinen Willen missachtet, der ist dir verhasst.

    But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;
    In fear of You I will worship toward [d]Your holy temple.

    Lügner, Mörder und Betrüger bringst du um, sie ekeln dich an!

    Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies;
    Make Your way straight before my face.

    Ich aber darf zu dir kommen, denn in deiner großen Gnade hast du mich angenommen. Voller Ehrfurcht bete ich dich in deinem Heiligtum an.

    For there is no [e]faithfulness in their mouth;
    Their inward part is destruction;
    Their throat is an open tomb;
    They flatter with their tongue.

    Zeige denen, die mich verleumden, dass du zu mir stehst! Ebne mir den Weg, den ich gehen soll!

    Pronounce them guilty, O God!
    Let them fall by their own counsels;
    Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions,
    For they have rebelled against You.

    Was meine Feinde von sich geben, ist nichts als Lüge. Schlecht und verlogen, wie sie sind, können sie gar nicht anders: Sie bringen Tod und Untergang, auch wenn sie es hinter schmeichelnden Worten verbergen.

    But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
    Let them ever shout for joy, because You [f]defend them;
    Let those also who love Your name
    Be joyful in You.

    O Gott, rechne mit ihnen ab! Lass sie zu Fall kommen durch ihre eigenen Pläne! Verstoße sie wegen all des Unrechts, das sie begangen haben — gegen dich lehnen sie sich auf!

    For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
    With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

    Doch alle, die bei dir Zuflucht suchen, werden sich freuen. Ihr Jubel kennt keine Grenzen, denn bei dir sind sie geborgen. Ja, wer dich liebt, darf vor Freude jubeln!
