A Prayer for Guidance

To the Chief Musician. With [a]flutes. A Psalm of David.

Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my [b]meditation.

На закінчення. Про ту, яка успадкує. Псалом Давида.

Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
For to You I will pray.

Господи, вислухай мої слова, зверни увагу на моє голосіння.

My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.

Прислухайся до голосу мого благання, мій Царю і мій Боже, бо я, Господи, буду молитися до Тебе.

For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
Nor shall evil [c]dwell with You.

Вранці Ти почуєш мій голос, — вдосвіта я стану перед Тобою, і [Ти зглянешся].

The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
You hate all workers of iniquity.

Адже Ти — Бог, Який не може погодитися з беззаконням, і не поселиться біля Тебе той, хто чинить зло.

You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

Порушники закону не встоять перед Твоїми очима: Ти не злюбив усіх, які чинять беззаконня,

But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;
In fear of You I will worship toward [d]Your holy temple.

і вигубиш усіх, котрі говорять неправду. Кровожерною та підступною людиною гидує Господь.

Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies;
Make Your way straight before my face.

Я ж, за Твоїм великим милосердям, увійду до Твого дому, поклонюся до Твого святого храму — у Твоєму страсі.

For there is no [e]faithfulness in their mouth;
Their inward part is destruction;
Their throat is an open tomb;
They flatter with their tongue.

Господи, заради моїх ворогів веди мене Своєю праведністю, Ти вирівняй переді мною Свою дорогу.

Pronounce them guilty, O God!
Let them fall by their own counsels;
Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions,
For they have rebelled against You.

Адже на їхніх устах немає правди; їхнє серце — нікчемне; їхнє горло — відкрита могила; вони своїми язиками вчинили обман.

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You [f]defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.

Суди їх, Боже, хай відступляться від своїх задумів; за їхню велику безбожність відкинь їх, бо вони вчинили Тобі велику прикрість, Господи.

For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

А всі, які надіються на Тебе, хай відчують радість. Вони веселитимуться повік, а Ти поселишся між ними. І будуть Тобою хвалитися всі ті, хто любить Твоє Ім’я, —
