New King James Version

King James Bible

  • A Prayer of Faith in Time of Distress

    To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. On [a]an eight-stringed harp. A Psalm of David.

    O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
    Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
  • Don't Rebuke Me in Your Anger

    {To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David.} O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
  • Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;
    O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled.
  • Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
  • My soul also is greatly troubled;
    But You, O Lord — how long?
  • My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?
  • Return, O Lord, deliver me!
    Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
  • Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.
  • For in death there is no remembrance of You;
    In the grave who will give You thanks?
  • For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
  • I am weary with my groaning;
    [b]All night I make my bed swim;
    I drench my couch with my tears.
  • I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
  • My eye wastes away because of grief;
    It grows old because of all my enemies.
  • Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.
  • Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
    For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
  • Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.
  • The Lord has heard my supplication;
    The Lord will receive my prayer.
  • The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.
  • Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;
    Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.
  • Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
