A Plea for Justice

A Psalm of Asaph.

God stands in the congregation of [a]the mighty;
He judges among the [b]gods.

How long will you judge unjustly,
And show partiality to the wicked? Selah

Боже, хто уподібниться до Тебе? Не мовчи, не заспокоюйся, Боже,

[c]Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy.

бо ось Твої вороги зашуміли, і Твої ненависники підняли голову.

Deliver the poor and needy;
Free them from the hand of the wicked.

Вони склали хитрий задум проти Твого народу і змовилися проти Твоїх святих.

They do not know, nor do they understand;
They walk about in darkness;
All the foundations of the earth are [d]unstable.

Сказали: Давайте винищимо їх з-посеред народів, — більше не буде згадуватися ім’я Ізраїля!

I said, “You are [e]gods,
And all of you are children of the Most High.

Адже вони і одностайно змовилися, спільно уклали проти Тебе союз:

But you shall die like men,
And fall like one of the princes.”
