бо від віку ти розбила твоє ярмо, ти розтрощила твої кайдани, і ти сказала: Не служитиму, але піду на всякий високий пагорб, і під усяким крислатим деревом, там розкинуся в моїй розпусті!

Як скажеш: Я не опоганилася, і я не пішла за Ваалом? Поглянь на твої дороги, на цвинтарі, і пізнай, що ти зробила. Ввечері закричав її голос, свої дороги

Вони сказали дереву: Ти — мій Батько! — і каменю: Ти мене породив! — і до Мене повернули спини, а не свої обличчя. А в час їхнього зла скажуть: Устань і спаси нас!
Тож де є твої боги, яких ти собі зробила? Може встануть і тебе врятують у час твого лиха? Адже твої боги були за числом твоїх міст, Юдо, і за числом вулиць Єрусалима приносили жертви Ваалові.

Даремно Я бив ваших синів, ви не сприйняли напоумлення. Меч пожер ваших пророків, наче лев, який нищить, та ви не побоялися.
Послухайте Господнє слово: Так говорить Господь! Хіба Я був пустелею для Ізраїля чи засушеною землею? Навіщо Мій народ сказав: Не володітимуть нами, і ми більше не прийдемо до Тебе?

Хіба наречена забуде свої прикраси і дівчина свої стрічки? А Мій народ Мене забув упродовж днів, яким немає рахунку.
“Why do you beautify your way to seek love?

Що ще доброго вчиниш на твоїх дорогах, щоби знайти любов? Не так, але й зло ти вчинила, щоб осквернити твої дороги.
І на твоїх руках знайдено кров невинних душ. Я їх знайшов не в ровах, але під кожним деревом.

А ти сказала: Невинна я, тому нехай відвернеться Його гнів від мене! Ось Я суджуся з тобою, коли ти говориш: Я не згрішила.

Як це, що ти настільки знехтувала Мною, щоб повторювати твої дороги? І ти соромишся Єгипту, так, як ти застидалася Ассура.
