Judgment on Israel

Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Moab, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.

Так говорит Господь: за три преступления Моава и за четыре не пощажу его, потому что он пережёг кости царя Едомского в известь.

2

But I will send a fire upon Moab,
And it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth;
Moab shall die with tumult,
With shouting and trumpet sound.

И пошлю огонь на Моава, и пожрёт чертоги Кериофа, и погибнет Моав среди разгрома с шумом, при звуке трубы.

And I will cut off the judge from its midst,
And slay all its princes with him,”
Says the Lord.

Истреблю судью из среды его и умерщвлю всех князей его вместе с ним, говорит Господь.

Judgment on Judah

Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Judah, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they have despised the law of the Lord,
And have not kept His commandments.
Their lies lead them astray,
Lies which their fathers followed.

Так говорит Господь: за три преступления Иуды и за четыре не пощажу его, потому что отвергли закон Господень и постановлений Его не сохранили, и идолы их, вслед которых ходили отцы их, совратили их с пути.

But I will send a fire upon Judah,
And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”

И пошлю огонь на Иуду, и пожрёт чертоги Иерусалима.

Judgment on Israel

Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Israel, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they sell the righteous for silver,
And the poor for a pair of sandals.

Так говорит Господь: за три преступления Израиля и за четыре не пощажу его, потому что продают правого за серебро и бедного — за пару сандалий.

7

They [a]pant after the dust of the earth which is on the head of the poor,
And pervert the way of the humble.
A man and his father go in to the same girl,
To defile My holy name.

Жаждут, чтобы прах земной был на голове бедных, и путь кротких извращают; даже отец и сын ходят к одной женщине, чтобы бесславить святое имя Моё.

They lie down by every altar on clothes taken in pledge,
And drink the wine of [b]the condemned in the house of their god.

На одеждах, взятых в залог, возлежат при всяком жертвеннике, и вино, взыскиваемое с обвинённых, пьют в доме богов своих.

“Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them,
Whose height was like the height of the cedars,
And he was as strong as the oaks;
Yet I destroyed his fruit above
And his roots beneath.

А Я истребил перед лицом их Аморрея, которого высота была как высота кедра и который был крепок как дуб; Я истребил плод его вверху и корни его внизу.

Also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt,
And led you forty years through the wilderness,
To possess the land of the Amorite.

Вас же Я вывел из земли Египетской и водил вас в пустыне сорок лет, чтобы вам наследовать землю Аморрейскую.

11

I raised up some of your sons as prophets,
And some of your young men as Nazirites.
Is it not so, O you children of Israel?”
Says the Lord.

Из сыновей ваших Я избирал в пророки и из юношей ваших — в назореи; не так ли это, сыны Израиля? говорит Господь.

12

“But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink,
And commanded the prophets saying,
‘Do not prophesy!’

А вы назореев поили вином и пророкам приказывали, говоря: «не пророчествуйте».

13

“Behold, I am [c]weighed down by you,
As a cart full of sheaves [d]is weighed down.

Вот, Я придавлю вас, как давит колесница, нагруженная снопами, —

14

Therefore [e]flight shall perish from the swift,
The strong shall not strengthen his power,
Nor shall the mighty [f]deliver himself;

и у проворного не станет силы бежать, и крепкий не удержит крепости своей, и храбрый не спасёт своей жизни,

15

He shall not stand who handles the bow,
The swift of foot shall not [g]escape,
Nor shall he who rides a horse deliver himself.

15

ни стреляющий из лука не устоит, ни скороход не убежит, ни сидящий на коне не спасёт своей жизни.

16

The most [h]courageous men of might
Shall flee naked in that day,”
Says the Lord.

16

И самый отважный из храбрых убежит нагой в тот день, говорит Господь.
