Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying:

Am ersten Tag des zweiten Monats im zweiten Jahr nach ihrem Auszug aus Ägypten sprach der HERR in der Wüste Sinai im Offenbarungszelt zu Mose:
“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male individually,
Ermittelt die Gesamtzahl der Israeliten in der Gemeinde, geordnet nach ihren Sippen und ihren Großfamilien; zählt alle Männer einzeln mit Namen,
from twenty years old and above — all who are able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
die zwanzig Jahre und älter sind, alle wehrfähigen Israeliten! Mustert sie für ihre Heeresverbände, du und Aaron!
And with you there shall be a man from every tribe, each one the head of his father’s house.
Aus jedem Stamm soll euch dabei ein Mann helfen, und zwar jeweils das Haupt einer Großfamilie.
“These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: from Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
Das sind die Namen der Männer, die euch beistehen sollen: aus Ruben Elizur, der Sohn Schedëurs;
from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
von den Nachkommen Josefs: aus Efraim Elischama, der Sohn Ammihuds, und aus Manasse Gamliël, der Sohn Pedazurs;
Das sind die von der Gemeinde berufenen Anführer der Stämme ihrer Väter; sie waren die Befehlshaber der Tausendschaften Israels.
Mose und Aaron nahmen diese mit Namen genannten Männer
and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they recited their ancestry by families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, each one individually.
und versammelten die ganze Gemeinde am ersten Tag des zweiten Monats. Dann erhob man die Geschlechter nach Sippen und Großfamilien. Man zählte jeden einzeln mit Namen, von zwanzig Jahren an aufwärts.
As the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai.
Wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte, so musterte man sie in der Wüste Sinai.
Now the children of Reuben, Israel’s oldest son, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
Zuerst kamen die Nachkommen Rubens, des Erstgeborenen Israels: Man ermittelte ihre Geschlechterfolge nach ihren Sippen und ihren Großfamilien und zählte alle wehrfähigen Männer einzeln mit Namen von 20 Jahren an aufwärts.
those who were numbered of the tribe of Reuben were forty-six thousand five hundred.
Die Zahl der aus dem Stamm Ruben Gemusterten betrug 46 500 Mann.

Sodann die Simeoniter: Man ermittelte ihre Geschlechterfolge nach ihren Sippen und ihren Großfamilien und zählte jeden einzeln mit Namen, alle wehrfähigen Männer von zwanzig Jahren an aufwärts.
those who were numbered of the tribe of Simeon were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

Die Zahl der aus dem Stamm Naftali Gemusterten betrug 53 400 Mann.
These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each one representing his father’s house.
Das waren die Gemusterten, die Mose und Aaron zusammen mit den Anführern Israels musterten; es waren zwölf Anführer, je einer aus seiner Großfamilie.
So all who were numbered of the children of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war in Israel —
So ergab sich die Gesamtzahl der gemusterten Israeliten, geordnet nach ihren Großfamilien, alle wehrfähigen Männer in Israel von zwanzig Jahren an aufwärts.
all who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.
Die Gesamtzahl der Gemusterten betrug 603 550.
But the Levites were not numbered among them by their fathers’ tribe;
Die aber, die dem Stamm ihrer Väter nach Leviten waren, wurden nicht gemustert.
“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, nor take a census of them among the children of Israel;
Unter den Israeliten sollst du nur den Stamm Levi nicht mustern und zählen.
but you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, over all its furnishings, and over all things that belong to it; they shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they shall attend to it and camp around the tabernacle.
Betrau die Leviten mit der Sorge für die Wohnung des Bundeszeugnisses, für ihre Geräte und für alles, was dazugehört! Sie sollen die Wohnung und alle ihre Geräte tragen und sollen sie pflegen; sie sollen ihren Lagerplatz rings um die Wohnung haben.
And when the tabernacle is to go forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.
Beim Aufbruch der Wohnung sollen die Leviten sie abbauen und beim Lagern der Wohnung sollen die Leviten sie aufstellen. Jeder Unbefugte, der sich nähert, ist dem Tod verfallen.
The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, everyone by his own camp, everyone by his own standard, according to their armies;
Die Israeliten sollen sich jeder an seinem Lagerplatz lagern, jeder bei seinem Feldzeichen, bei seiner Abteilung im Heer.
Die Leviten aber sollen ihr Lager rings um die Wohnung des Bundeszeugnisses aufschlagen, damit kein Zorn die Gemeinde der Israeliten trifft; die Leviten sollen den Dienst an der Wohnung des Bundeszeugnisses tun.
