The Tribes and Leaders by Armies

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:

Und der HERR redete mit Mose und Aaron und sprach:

“Everyone of the children of Israel shall camp by his own [a]standard, beside the emblems of his father’s house; they shall camp some distance from the tabernacle of meeting.

Die Kinder Israel sollen vor der Hütte des Stifts umher sich lagern, ein jeglicher unter seinem Panier und Zeichen nach ihren Vaterhäusern.

On the east side, toward the rising of the sun, those of the standard of the forces with Judah shall camp according to their armies; and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be the leader of the children of Judah.”

Gegen Morgen soll sich lagern Juda mit seinem Panier und Heer; ihr Hauptmann Nahesson, der Sohn Amminadabs,

And his army was numbered at seventy-four thousand six hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 74,600.

“Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar, and Nethanel the son of Zuar shall be the leader of the children of Issachar.”

Neben ihm soll sich lagern der Stamm Isaschar; ihr Hauptmann Nathanael, der Sohn Zuars,

And his army was numbered at fifty-four thousand four hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 54,400.

“Then comes the tribe of Zebulun, and Eliab the son of Helon shall be the leader of the children of Zebulun.”

Dazu der Stamm Sebulon; ihr Hauptmann Eliab, der Sohn Helons,

And his army was numbered at fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

sein Heer, zusammen 57,400.

“All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Judah, one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred — these shall [b]break camp first.

Daß alle, die ins Lager Juda’s gehören, seien zusammen 186,400 die zu ihrem Heer gehören; und sie sollen vornean ziehen.

“On the south side shall be the standard of the forces with Reuben according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.”

Gegen Mittag soll liegen das Gezelt und Panier Rubens mit ihrem Heer; ihr Hauptmann Elizur, der Sohn Sedeurs,

And his army was numbered at forty-six thousand five hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 46,500.

“Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon, and the leader of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.”

Neben ihm soll sich lagern der Stamm Simeon; ihr Hauptmann Selumiel, der Sohn Zuri–Saddais,

And his army was numbered at fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 59,300.

“Then comes the tribe of Gad, and the leader of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of [c]Reuel.”

Dazu der Stamm Gad; ihr Hauptmann Eljasaph, der Sohn Reguels,

And his army was numbered at forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

und sein Heer, zusammen 45,650.

“All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Reuben, one hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty — they shall [d]be the second to break camp.

Daß alle, die ins Lager Rubens gehören, seien zusammen 151,450, die zu ihrem Heer gehören; sie sollen die zweiten im Ausziehen sein.

“And the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the [e]camp of the Levites in the middle of the [f]camps; as they camp, so they shall move out, everyone in his place, by their [g]standards.

Darnach soll die Hütte des Stifts ziehen mit dem Lager der Leviten, mitten unter den Lagern; und wie sie sich lagern, so sollen sie auch ziehen, ein jeglicher an seinem Ort unter seinem Panier.

“On the west side shall be the standard of the forces with Ephraim according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.”

Gegen Abend soll liegen das Gezelt und Panier Ephraims mit ihrem Heer; ihr Hauptmann soll sein Elisama, der Sohn Ammihuds,

And his army was numbered at forty thousand five hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 40,500.

“Next to him comes the tribe of Manasseh, and the leader of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.”

Neben ihm soll sich lagern der Stamm Manasse; ihr Hauptmann Gamliel, der Sohn Pedazurs,

And his army was numbered at thirty-two thousand two hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 32,200.

“Then comes the tribe of Benjamin, and the leader of the children of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.”

Dazu der Stamm Benjamin; ihr Hauptmann Abidan, der Sohn des Gideoni,

And his army was numbered at thirty-five thousand four hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 35,400.

“All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Ephraim, one hundred and eight thousand one hundred — they shall [h]be the third to break camp.

Daß alle, die ins Lager Ephraims gehören, seien zusammen 108,100, die zu seinem Heer gehören; und sie sollen die dritten im Ausziehen sein.

“The [i]standard of the forces with Dan shall be on the north side according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.”

Gegen Mitternacht soll liegen das Gezelt und Panier Dans mit ihrem Heer; ihr Hauptmann Ahieser, der Sohn Ammi–Saddais,

And his army was numbered at sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 62,700.

“Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher, and the leader of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran.”

Neben ihm soll sich lagern der Stamm Asser; ihr Hauptmann Pagiel, der Sohn Ochrans,

And his army was numbered at forty-one thousand five hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 41,500.

“Then comes the tribe of Naphtali, and the leader of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.”

Dazu der Stamm Naphthali; ihr Hauptmann Ahira, der Sohn Enans,

And his army was numbered at fifty-three thousand four hundred.

und sein Heer, zusammen 53,400.

“All who were numbered of the forces with Dan, one hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred — they shall [j]break camp last, with their [k]standards.”

Daß alle, die ins Lager Dans gehören, seien zusammen 157,600; und sie sollen die letzten sein im Ausziehen mit ihrem Panier.

These are the ones who were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses. All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

Dies ist die Summe der Kinder Israel nach ihren Vaterhäusern und Lagern mit ihren Heeren: 603,550.

But the Levites were not numbered among the children of Israel, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

Aber die Leviten wurden nicht in die Summe unter die Kinder Israel gezählt, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.

Thus the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses; so they camped by their [l]standards and so they broke camp, each one by his family, according to their fathers’ houses.

Und die Kinder Israel taten alles, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte, und lagerten sich unter ihre Paniere und zogen aus, ein jeglicher in seinem Geschlecht nach seinem Vaterhaus.
