Johannes, der war in der Wüste, taufte und predigte von der Taufe der Buße zur Vergebung der Sünden.
Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

und predigte und sprach: Es kommt einer nach mir, der ist stärker denn ich, dem ich nicht genugsam bin, daß ich mich vor ihm bücke und die Riemen seiner Schuhe auflöse.
I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
Ich taufe euch mit Wasser; aber er wird euch mit dem heiligen Geist taufen.
John Baptizes Jesus
It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

Und es begab sich zu der Zeit, daß Jesus aus Galiläa von Nazareth kam und ließ sich taufen von Johannes im Jordan.
Und alsbald stieg er aus dem Wasser und sah, daß sich der Himmel auftat, und den Geist gleich wie eine Taube herabkommen auf ihn.
Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Und da geschah eine Stimme vom Himmel: Du bist mein lieber Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen habe.
Und alsbald trieb ihn der Geist in die Wüste,
And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.
und er war allda in der Wüste 40 Tage und ward versucht von dem Satan und war bei den Tieren, und die Engel dienten ihm.
Nachdem aber Johannes überantwortet war, kam Jesus nach Galiläa und predigte das Evangelium vom Reich Gottes
und sprach: Die Zeit ist erfüllet, und das Reich Gottes ist herbeigekommen. Tut Buße und glaubt an das Evangelium!
Four Fishermen Called as Disciples

Da er aber an dem Galiläischen Meer ging, sah er Simon und Andreas, seinen Bruder, daß sie ihre Netze ins Meer warfen; denn sie waren Fischer.
Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Folget mir nach; ich will euch zu Menschenfischern machen!
They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
Alsobald verließen sie ihre Netze und folgten ihm nach.
When He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets.
Und als er von da ein wenig weiter ging, sah er Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und Johannes, seinen Bruder, daß sie die Netze im Schiff flickten; und alsbald rief er sie.
And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him.
Und sie ließen ihren Vater Zebedäus im Schiff mit den Tagelöhnern und folgten ihm nach.
Jesus Casts Out an Unclean Spirit

And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Und sie entsetzten sich über seine Lehre; denn er lehrte gewaltig und nicht wie die Schriftgelehrten.
Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out,
Und es war in ihrer Schule ein Mensch, besessen mit einem unsauberen Geist; der schrie
saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are — the Holy One of God!”
und sprach: Halt, was haben wir mit dir zu schaffen, Jesus von Nazareth? Du bist gekommen, uns zu verderben. Ich weiß wer du bist: der Heilige Gottes.
Und Jesus bedrohte ihn und sprach: Verstumme und fahre aus von ihm!
And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him.
Und der unsaubere Geist riß ihn und schrie laut und fuhr aus von ihm.
Und sie entsetzten sich alle, also daß sie untereinander sich befragten und sprachen: Was ist das? Was ist das für eine neue Lehre? Er gebietet mit Gewalt den unsaubern Geistern, und sie gehorchen ihm.
And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.
Und sein Gerücht erscholl alsbald umher in das galiläische Land.
Peter’s Mother-in-Law Healed
Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once.

So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.
Und er trat zu ihr und richtete sie auf und hielt sie bei der Hand; und das Fieber verließ sie, und sie diente ihnen.

Und er half vielen Kranken, die mit mancherlei Seuchen beladen waren, und trieb viele Teufel aus und ließ die Teufel nicht reden, denn sie kannten ihn.
Und des Morgens vor Tage stand er auf und ging hinaus. Und Jesus ging in eine wüste Stätte und betete daselbst.
And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him.
Und Petrus mit denen, die bei ihm waren, eilten ihm nach.
When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”
Und da sie ihn fanden, sprachen sie zu ihm: Jedermann sucht dich.
But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”
Und er sprach zu ihnen: Laßt uns in die nächsten Städte gehen, daß ich daselbst auch predige; denn dazu bin ich gekommen.
And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.
Und er predigte in ihren Schulen in ganz Galiläa und trieb die Teufel aus.
Jesus Cleanses a Leper
Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”

Und es kam zu ihm ein Aussätziger, der bat ihn, kniete vor ihm und sprach zu ihm: Willst du, so kannst du mich wohl reinigen.
Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Und es jammerte Jesum, und er reckte die Hand aus, rührte ihn an und sprach: Ich will’s tun; sei gereinigt!
As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
Und als er so sprach, ging der Aussatz alsbald von ihm, und er ward rein.
And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once,
Und Jesus bedrohte ihn und trieb ihn alsbald von sich
and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
und sprach zu ihm: Siehe zu, daß du niemand davon sagest; sondern gehe dahin und zeige dich dem Priester und opfere für deine Reinigung, was Mose geboten hat, zum Zeugnis über sie.
However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.
Er aber, da er hinauskam, hob er an und sagte viel davon und machte die Geschichte ruchbar, also daß er hinfort nicht mehr konnte öffentlich in die Stadt gehen; sondern er war draußen in den wüsten Örtern, und sie kamen zu ihm von allen Enden.
