Pray for All Men

Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

Отже, перш над усе я благаю чинити молитви, блага́ння, проха́ння, подяки за всіх людей,

for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence.

за царі́в та за всіх, хто при вла́ді, щоб могли ми прова́дити тихе й мирне життя в усякій побожності та чистості.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

Бо це добре й приємне Спасителеві нашому Богові,

who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

що хоче, щоб усі люди спаслися, і прийшли до пізна́ння пра́вди.

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Один бо є Бог, і один Посере́дник між Богом та людьми́, — люди́на Христос Ісус,

who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

що дав Само́го Себе на ви́куп за всіх. Таке було свідо́цтво ча́су свого,

for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle — I am speaking the truth [d]in Christ and not lying — a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

на що я поста́влений був за проповідника та за апо́стола, — правду кажу́, не обманюю, — за вчителя поганів у вірі та в правді.

Men and Women in the Church

I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

Отож, хо́чу я, щоб му́жі чинили моли́тви на кожному місці, підіймаючи чисті руки без гніву та сумніву.

in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and [e]moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing,

Так само й жінки́, — у скромнім убра́нні, з соромли́вістю та неви́нністю, — нехай прикрашають себе не плеті́нням воло́сся, не кошто́вними ша́тами,

but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.

але добрими вчинками, як то ли́чить жінка́м, що присвячуються на побожність.

Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.

Нехай жінка навчається мо́вчки в повній покорі.

And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

А жінці навчати я не дозволяю, ані панувати над мужем, але бути в мовча́нні.

For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

Ада́м бо був створений перше, а Єва потому.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

І Ада́м не був зве́дений, але, зведена бувши, жінка попала в пере́ступ.

Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

Та спасеться вона діторо́дженням, якщо пробува́тиме в вірі й любові, та в посвяті з розвагою.
