Solomon’s Many Achievements

Und nach 20 Jahren, in welchen Salomo des HERRN Haus und sein Haus baute,
baute er auch die Städte, die Huram Salomo gab, und ließ die Kinder Israel darin wohnen.
Solomon also fought against the town of Hamath-zobah and conquered it.
Und Salomo zog gen Hamath–Zoba und ward desselben mächtig
He rebuilt Tadmor in the wilderness and built towns in the region of Hamath as supply centers.
und baute Thadmor in der Wüste und alle Kornstädte, die er baute in Hamath;
He fortified the towns of Upper Beth-horon and Lower Beth-horon, rebuilding their walls and installing barred gates.
er baute auch Ober– und Nieder–Beth–Horon, die feste Städte waren mit Mauern, Türen und Riegeln;
auch Baalath und alle Kornstädte, die Salomo hatte, und alle Wagen– und Reiter–Städte und alles, wozu Salomo Lust hatte zu bauen zu Jerusalem und auf dem Libanon und im ganzen Lande seiner Herrschaft.
There were still some people living in the land who were not Israelites, including the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.
Alles übrige Volk von den Hethitern, Amoritern, Pheresitern, Hevitern und Jebusitern, die nicht von den Kindern Israel waren,
These were descendants of the nations whom the people of Israel had not destroyed. So Solomon conscripted them for his labor force, and they serve as forced laborers to this day.
ihre Kinder, die sie hinterlassen hatten im Lande, die die Kinder Israel nicht vertilgt hatten, machte Salomo zu Fronleuten bis auf diesen Tag.
But Solomon did not conscript any of the Israelites for his labor force. Instead, he assigned them to serve as fighting men, officers in his army, commanders of his chariots, and charioteers.
Aber von den Kindern Israel machte Salomo nicht Knechte zu seiner Arbeit; sondern sie waren Kriegsleute und Oberste über seine Ritter und über seine Wagen und Reiter.
King Solomon appointed 250 of them to supervise the people.
Und der obersten Amtleute des Königs Salomo waren 250, die über das Volk herrschten.
Solomon moved his wife, Pharaoh’s daughter, from the City of David to the new palace he had built for her. He said, “My wife must not live in King David’s palace, for the Ark of the LORD has been there, and it is holy ground.”
Und die Tochter Pharaos ließ Salomo heraufholen aus der Stadt Davids in das Haus, das er für sie gebaut hatte. Denn er sprach: Mein Weib soll mir nicht wohnen im Hause Davids, des Königs Israels; denn es ist geheiligt, weil die Lade des HERRN hineingekommen ist.
Then Solomon presented burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar he had built for him in front of the entry room of the Temple.
Von dem an opferte Salomo dem HERRN Brandopfer auf dem Altar des HERRN, den er gebaut hatte vor der Halle,
ein jegliches auf seinen Tag zu opfern nach dem Gebot Mose’s, auf die Sabbate, Neumonde und bestimmten Zeiten des Jahres dreimal, nämlich aufs Fest der ungesäuerten Brote, aufs Fest der Wochen und aufs Fest der Laubhütten.
In assigning the priests to their duties, Solomon followed the regulations of his father, David. He also assigned the Levites to lead the people in praise and to assist the priests in their daily duties. And he assigned the gatekeepers to their gates by their divisions, following the commands of David, the man of God.
Und er bestellte die Priester in ihren Ordnungen zu ihrem Amt, wie es David, sein Vater, bestimmt hatte, und die Leviten zu ihrem Dienst, daß sie lobten und dienten vor den Priestern, jegliche auf ihren Tag, und die Torhüter in ihren Ordnungen, jegliche auf ihr Tor; denn also hatte es David, der Mann Gottes, befohlen.
Solomon did not deviate in any way from David’s commands concerning the priests and Levites and the treasuries.
Und es ward nicht gewichen vom Gebot des Königs über die Priester und Leviten in allerlei Sachen und bei den Schätzen.
So Solomon made sure that all the work related to building the Temple of the LORD was carried out, from the day its foundation was laid to the day of its completion.
Also ward bereitet alles Geschäft Salomos von dem Tage an, da des HERRN Haus gegründet ward, bis er’s vollendete, daß des HERRN Haus ganz bereitet ward.
Da zog Salomo gen Ezeon–Geber und gen Eloth an dem Ufer des Meeres im Lande Edom.
Und Huram sandte ihm Schiffe durch seine Knechte, die des Meeres kundig waren; und sie fuhren mit den Knechten Salomos gen Ophir und holten von da 450 Zentner Gold und brachten’s dem König Salomo.
