Gott befahl mir: »Du Mensch, nimm ein scharfes Schwert! Benutz es als Schermesser und schneide dir damit die Haare und den Bart ab! Dann hol eine Waage und teile die Haare gleichmäßig auf!
Place a third of it at the center of your map of Jerusalem. After acting out the siege, burn it there. Scatter another third across your map and chop it with a sword. Scatter the last third to the wind, for I will scatter my people with the sword.
Ein Drittel sollst du mitten auf den Stein mit den Umrissen von Jerusalem legen und dort verbrennen, nachdem du die Belagerung der Stadt nachgestellt hast. Das zweite Drittel zerkleinere mit dem Schwert und verteile es rings um den Stein herum, das letzte Drittel streu in den Wind! Denn ich werde die Einwohner von Jerusalem mit gezücktem Schwert vertreiben.
Keep just a bit of the hair and tie it up in your robe.
Behalte nur wenige Haare zurück und steck sie in dein Gewand!
Then take some of these hairs out and throw them into the fire, burning them up. A fire will then spread from this remnant and destroy all of Israel.
Aber auch von ihnen sollst du noch einige herausnehmen: Wirf sie ins Feuer und lass sie verbrennen! Das Feuer wird sich ausbreiten und das ganze Volk Israel verzehren.

Ich, Gott, der HERR, sage: Schaut euch Jerusalem an! Ich habe es zum Mittelpunkt aller Völker und Länder gemacht,
but she has rebelled against my regulations and decrees and has been even more wicked than the surrounding nations. She has refused to obey the regulations and decrees I gave her to follow.
aber seine Einwohner haben sich gegen mich aufgelehnt und meine Weisungen in den Wind geschlagen. Darin haben sie alle Völker ringsum übertroffen. Ja, sie verwerfen mein Gesetz, sie wollen nicht nach meinen Geboten leben.
“Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: You people have behaved worse than your neighbors and have refused to obey my decrees and regulations. You have not even lived up to the standards of the nations around you.
Nun kündige ich, Gott, der HERR, ihnen an: Weil ihr es noch schlimmer getrieben habt als die Völker um euch her, weil ihr euch nicht nach meinen Weisungen und Geboten, ja, nicht einmal nach Recht und Sitte der anderen Völker gerichtet habt,
Therefore, I myself, the Sovereign LORD, am now your enemy. I will punish you publicly while all the nations watch.
darum wende ich selbst, der HERR, mich nun gegen euch. Vor den Augen aller Völker ziehe ich euch zur Rechenschaft. Darauf könnt ihr euch verlassen!
Because of your detestable idols, I will punish you like I have never punished anyone before or ever will again.
Weil ihr genau das tut, was ich verabscheue, werde ich euch so hart bestrafen, wie ich es vorher noch nie getan habe und auch nie wieder tun werde.
Parents will eat their own children, and children will eat their parents. I will punish you and scatter to the winds the few who survive.
Mitten in Jerusalem werden Väter und Kinder sich gegenseitig töten und aufessen. Ich halte Gericht über euch und zerstreue die Überlebenden in alle Winde.
“As surely as I live, says the Sovereign LORD, I will cut you off completely. I will show you no pity at all because you have defiled my Temple with your vile images and detestable sins.
Ich, Gott, der HERR, schwöre, so wahr ich lebe: Weil ihr meinen heiligen Tempel mit all euren widerlichen Götzen und abscheulichen Taten entweiht habt, werde ich Jerusalem kahl scheren. Keine Träne werde ich um euch vergießen, kein Mitleid mit euch haben.
A third of your people will die in the city from disease and famine. A third of them will be slaughtered by the enemy outside the city walls. And I will scatter a third to the winds, chasing them with my sword.
Ein Drittel von euch geht in der Stadt zugrunde — durch Seuchen oder Hunger. Das zweite Drittel wird vor den Mauern Jerusalems mit dem Schwert niedergemetzelt, und den Rest zerstreue ich in alle Winde — mit gezücktem Schwert werde ich sie vertreiben.
Then at last my anger will be spent, and I will be satisfied. And when my fury against them has subsided, all Israel will know that I, the LORD, have spoken to them in my jealous anger.
Ich nehme Rache und gieße meinen Zorn über euch aus. Wenn er euch mit voller Wucht trifft, werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, leidenschaftlich versucht habe, euch zu warnen.
“So I will turn you into a ruin, a mockery in the eyes of the surrounding nations and to all who pass by.
Dich, Jerusalem, mache ich zu einem Trümmerhaufen. Alle Völker ringsum werden dich verhöhnen — ja, jeder, der an dir vorübergeht,
You will become an object of mockery and taunting and horror. You will be a warning to all the nations around you. They will see what happens when the LORD punishes a nation in anger and rebukes it, says the LORD.
hat dann nur noch Hohn und Spott für dich übrig. Du wirst ein Bild des Schreckens und ein warnendes Beispiel für deine Nachbarvölker sein, wenn ich mit dir ins Gericht gehe und dich verurteile. Dann trifft dich die ganze Härte meines Zorns. Darauf gebe ich, der HERR, mein Wort.
“I will shower you with the deadly arrows of famine to destroy you. The famine will become more and more severe until every crumb of food is gone.
Ihr Einwohner von Jerusalem, euren Brotvorrat lasse ich zu Ende gehen, der Hunger wird euch quälen wie tödliche Pfeile.
And along with the famine, wild animals will attack you and rob you of your children. Disease and war will stalk your land, and I will bring the sword of the enemy against you. I, the LORD, have spoken!”
Hungersnot und wilde Tiere rauben euch die Kinder; Seuchen, Krieg und Gewalt richten euch zugrunde. Mein Wort gilt!«
