Duties of Priests and Levites
Then the LORD said to Aaron: “You, your sons, and your relatives from the tribe of Levi will be held responsible for any offenses related to the sanctuary. But you and your sons alone will be held responsible for violations connected with the priesthood.

Der HERR sprach zu Aaron: Du, deine Söhne und deine Großfamilie mit dir, ihr müsst die Schuld tragen, wenn jemand sich am Heiligtum versündigt; du und mit dir deine Söhne, ihr tragt die Schuld eures Priesterdienstes.
Aber auch deine Brüder, den Stamm Levi, deinen väterlichen Stamm, lass zusammen mit dir herannahen! Sie sollen sich dir anschließen und dir dienen, während ihr, du und deine Söhne, vor dem Zelt des Bundeszeugnisses seid.
But as the Levites go about all their assigned duties at the Tabernacle, they must be careful not to go near any of the sacred objects or the altar. If they do, both you and they will die.
Sie sollen deinen Dienst und den Dienst an dem ganzen Zelt tun. Nur den heiligen Geräten und dem Altar dürfen sie nicht zu nahe kommen, sonst müssen sie sterben, sowohl sie als auch ihr.
Sie sollen sich dir anschließen und den Dienst an dem Offenbarungszelt, alle auf das Zelt bezogenen Arbeiten, tun. Kein Unbefugter darf in eure Nähe kommen.
“You yourselves must perform the sacred duties inside the sanctuary and at the altar. If you follow these instructions, the LORD’s anger will never again blaze against the people of Israel.
Tut den Dienst am Heiligtum und am Altar! Dann wird der Zorn nicht mehr über die Israeliten kommen.
I myself have chosen your fellow Levites from among the Israelites to be your special assistants. They are a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD for service in the Tabernacle.
Siehe, ich selbst habe die Leviten, eure Brüder, aus der Mitte der Israeliten herausgenommen. Sie sind dem HERRN gegeben, euch zum Geschenk, damit sie den Dienst am Offenbarungszelt verrichten.
But you and your sons, the priests, must personally handle all the priestly rituals associated with the altar and with everything behind the inner curtain. I am giving you the priesthood as your special privilege of service. Any unauthorized person who comes too near the sanctuary will be put to death.”
Du aber, und mit dir deine Söhne, ihr sollt euren Priesterdienst in allem ausüben, was den Altar und den Raum hinter dem Vorhang betrifft; dort sollt ihr euren Dienst tun. Als einen Dienst, der ein Geschenk ist, übergebe ich euch den Priesterdienst. Jeder Unbefugte, der sich nähert, wird getötet.
Support for the Priests and Levites
The LORD gave these further instructions to Aaron: “I myself have put you in charge of all the holy offerings that are brought to me by the people of Israel. I have given all these consecrated offerings to you and your sons as your permanent share.
Der HERR sagte zu Aaron: Siehe, ich selbst übergebe dir hiermit die Verwaltung der Hebeopfer, die mir gegeben werden. Von allen heiligen Gaben der Israeliten gebe ich sie dir hiermit als Anteil und deinen Söhnen als ewiges Gesetz.
You are allotted the portion of the most holy offerings that is not burned on the fire. This portion of all the most holy offerings — including the grain offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings — will be most holy, and it belongs to you and your sons.
Dir soll von dem Hochheiligen all das zufallen, was nicht für das Feuer bestimmt ist: alle ihre Opfergaben bei allen ihren Speise-, Sünd- und Schuldopfern, die sie mir bringen. Das Hochheilige gehört dir und deinen Söhnen:
You must eat it as a most holy offering. All the males may eat of it, and you must treat it as most holy.
Esst sie am hochheiligen Ort! Jede männliche Person darf davon essen; sie sollen dir als heilig gelten.
“All the sacred offerings and special offerings presented to me when the Israelites lift them up before the altar also belong to you. I have given them to you and to your sons and daughters as your permanent share. Any member of your family who is ceremonially clean may eat of these offerings.
Auch das gehört dir: die Abgabe ihrer Gabe bei allen Erhebungsopfern der Israeliten. Dir und deinen Söhnen und Töchtern, die bei dir sind, gebe ich hiermit diese Abgabe als ewiges Gesetz. Jeder, der rein ist in deinem Haus, darf davon essen.
“I also give you the harvest gifts brought by the people as offerings to the LORD — the best of the olive oil, new wine, and grain.
Das Beste von allem Öl, das Beste von allem Most und Getreide, ihre Erstlingsgaben, die sie dem HERRN entrichten, gebe ich dir hiermit.
All the first crops of their land that the people present to the LORD belong to you. Any member of your family who is ceremonially clean may eat this food.
Von allem, was es in ihrem Land gibt, gehören dir die Erstlingsfrüchte, die sie dem HERRN bringen. Jeder, der rein ist in deinem Haus, darf davon essen.
Alles, was in Israel geweiht wird, gehört dir.
“The firstborn of every mother, whether human or animal, that is offered to the LORD will be yours. But you must always redeem your firstborn sons and the firstborn of ceremonially unclean animals.
Alle lebenden Wesen, die den Mutterschoß durchbrechen, und die sie dem HERRN darbringen, Mensch und Vieh, gehören dir. Du musst aber den Erstgeborenen bei den Menschen auslösen und ebenso musst du auch die erstgeborenen Tiere bei unreinem Vieh auslösen.
Du sollst sie auslösen, sobald sie einen Monat alt sind, nach dem Schätzwert, mit fünf Schekel Silber, nach dem Schekelgewicht des Heiligtums, das sind zwanzig Gera.
“However, you may not redeem the firstborn of cattle, sheep, or goats. They are holy and have been set apart for the LORD. Sprinkle their blood on the altar, and burn their fat as a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
Aber die Erstlinge vom Rind, vom Schaf oder von der Ziege darfst du nicht auslösen; sie sind heilig. Ihr Blut sollst du auf den Altar sprengen und ihre Fettteile in Rauch aufgehen lassen; ein Feueropfer zum beruhigenden Duft für den HERRN ist es.
The meat of these animals will be yours, just like the breast and right thigh that are presented by lifting them up as a special offering before the altar.
Ihr Fleisch gehört dir, wie auch die Brust vom Hebeopfer und auch die rechte Keule dir gehören.
Alle Abgaben von den heiligen Opfern, die die Israeliten dem HERRN entrichten, gebe ich hiermit dir und deinen Söhnen und Töchtern, die bei dir sind, als ewiges Gesetz. Ein ewiger Salzbund ist das vor dem HERRN für dich und mit dir für deine Nachkommen.
And the LORD said to Aaron, “You priests will receive no allotment of land or share of property among the people of Israel. I am your share and your allotment.
Der HERR sprach zu Aaron: Du sollst in ihrem Land keinen erblichen Besitz haben. Dir gehört unter ihnen kein Besitzanteil; ich bin dein Besitz und dein Erbteil mitten unter den Israeliten.
As for the tribe of Levi, your relatives, I will compensate them for their service in the Tabernacle. Instead of an allotment of land, I will give them the tithes from the entire land of Israel.
Was aber die Leviten betrifft, siehe, ich gebe hiermit als Erbteil den ganzen Zehnten in Israel, als Entgelt für ihren Dienst, den sie verrichten, den Dienst am Offenbarungszelt.
“From now on, no Israelites except priests or Levites may approach the Tabernacle. If they come too near, they will be judged guilty and will die.
Die Israeliten dürfen künftig nicht mehr in die Nähe des Offenbarungszeltes kommen; sonst laden sie eine Sünde auf sich und sterben.
Only the Levites may serve at the Tabernacle, and they will be held responsible for any offenses against it. This is a permanent law for you, to be observed from generation to generation. The Levites will receive no allotment of land among the Israelites,
Vielmehr darf nur der Levit am Offenbarungszelt Dienst tun, während die Israeliten ihre eigene Schuld tragen müssen. Das soll eine ewige Satzung bei euch sein von Generation zu Generation. In der Mitte der Israeliten sollen die Leviten keinen Erbbesitz haben.
because I have given them the Israelites’ tithes, which have been presented as sacred offerings to the LORD. This will be the Levites’ share. That is why I said they would receive no allotment of land among the Israelites.”
Denn als Erbteil für die Leviten gebe ich hiermit den Zehnten, den die Israeliten dem HERRN als Hebeopfer abgeben. Darum habe ich zu den Leviten gesagt, sie sollen keinen Erbbesitz unter den Israeliten bekommen.
“Give these instructions to the Levites: When you receive from the people of Israel the tithes I have assigned as your allotment, give a tenth of the tithes you receive — a tithe of the tithe — to the LORD as a sacred offering.
Rede zu den Leviten und sag zu ihnen: Wenn ihr von den Israeliten den Zehnten entgegennehmt, den ich euch von ihnen als euren Erbteil zugewiesen habe, dann gebt davon dem HERRN ein Hebeopfer als Zehnten vom Zehnten!
The LORD will consider this offering to be your harvest offering, as though it were the first grain from your own threshing floor or wine from your own winepress.
Das soll euch als euer Hebeopfer angerechnet werden wie das Hebeopfer vom Getreide der Tenne und vom Inhalt der Kelter.
You must present one-tenth of the tithe received from the Israelites as a sacred offering to the LORD. This is the LORD’s sacred portion, and you must present it to Aaron the priest.
So sollt auch ihr dem HERRN ein Hebeopfer von allen euren Zehnten abgeben, die ihr von den Israeliten erhebt. Ihr sollt davon das Hebeopfer des HERRN dem Priester Aaron übergeben.
Be sure to give to the LORD the best portions of the gifts given to you.
Von allem, was man euch gibt, sollt ihr das ganze Hebeopfer des HERRN abgeben, von allem Besten davon, als seinen heiligen Teil.
“Also, give these instructions to the Levites: When you present the best part as your offering, it will be considered as though it came from your own threshing floor or winepress.
Ferner sag zu ihnen: Wenn ihr davon das Beste abliefert, wird es den Leviten angerechnet wie der Ertrag von Tenne und Kelter.
You Levites and your families may eat this food anywhere you wish, for it is your compensation for serving in the Tabernacle.
Diesen dürft ihr überall essen, ihr und eure Familien, denn Lohn ist es für euch, Entgelt für euren Dienst am Offenbarungszelt.
You will not be considered guilty for accepting the LORD’s tithes if you give the best portion to the priests. But be careful not to treat the holy gifts of the people of Israel as though they were common. If you do, you will die.”
Ihr werdet dadurch keine Sünde auf euch laden, sofern ihr nur das Beste davon abgegeben habt, und ihr entweiht die heiligen Gaben der Israeliten nicht und werdet nicht sterben.
