Wenn ich in den unterschiedlichsten Sprachen der Welt, ja, sogar in der Sprache der Engel reden kann, aber ich habe keine Liebe, so bin ich nur wie ein dröhnender Gong oder ein lärmendes Becken.
If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

Liebe verletzt nicht den Anstand und sucht nicht den eigenen Vorteil, sie lässt sich nicht reizen und ist nicht nachtragend.
It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Sie freut sich nicht am Unrecht, sondern freut sich, wenn die Wahrheit siegt.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Liebe nimmt alles auf sich, sie verliert nie den Glauben oder die Hoffnung und hält durch bis zum Ende.
Die Liebe wird niemals vergehen. Einmal wird es keine Prophetien mehr geben, das Reden in unbekannten Sprachen wird aufhören, und auch die Gabe, Gottes Gedanken zu erkennen, wird nicht mehr nötig sein.
Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!
Denn diese Erkenntnis ist bruchstückhaft, ebenso wie unser prophetisches Reden.
But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.

Jetzt sehen wir nur ein undeutliches Bild wie in einem trüben Spiegel. Einmal aber werden wir Gott von Angesicht zu Angesicht sehen. Jetzt erkenne ich nur Bruchstücke, doch einmal werde ich alles klar erkennen, so deutlich, wie Gott mich jetzt schon kennt.
