Im ersten Jahr des Königs Kyrus von Persien sollte sich erfüllen, was der HERR durch Jeremia gesprochen hatte. Darum erweckte der HERR den Geist des Königs Kyrus von Persien und Kyrus ließ in seinem ganzen Reich mündlich und schriftlich den Befehl verkünden:

Im ersten Jahr des Kores, des Königs in Persien (daß erfüllt würde das Wort des HERRN, durch den Mund Jeremia’s geredet), erweckte der HERR den Geist des Kores, des Königs in Persien, daß er ließ ausrufen durch sein ganzes Königreich, auch durch Schrift, und sagen:

Im 1. Regierungsjahr des Perserkönigs Kyrus ließ der HERR in Erfüllung gehen, was er durch den Propheten Jeremia vorausgesagt hatte: Er bewog Kyrus dazu, in seinem ganzen Reich mündlich und schriftlich folgenden Erlass zu verkünden:
