Сыновья Рувима, первенца Израиля. (Он был первенцем, но когда он осквернил брачное ложе своего отца,47 права его первородства были отданы сыновьям Иосифа, сына Израиля; поэтому он и не упоминается в родословии по своему первородству,

Descendants of Reuben

And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, inasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; but the genealogy is not registered according to the birthright,

и хотя Иуда был сильнейшим среди своих братьев и от него произошел правитель, права первородства отошли к Иосифу.)

for Judah prevailed among his brethren, and of him was the prince, but the birthright was Joseph's),

Сыновья Рувима, первенца Израиля:

Енох, Фаллу, Хецрон и Хармий.

the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch And Phallu, Hezron And Carmi.

Сыновья Иоиля:
Шемая — сын его, его сын Гог, его сын Шимей,

The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

его сын Миха, его сын Реая, его сын Баал,

Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

его сын Беэра, которого увел в плен Тиглатпаласар,48
царь Ассирии. Беэра был вождем рувимитов.

Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

Их родичи по кланам, исчисленные по их родословиям:
Иеил был главным, затем Захария,

And his brethren by their families, in the genealogical register of their generations, were: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

Бела, сын Азаза, внук Шема, правнук Иоиля. Они населяли земли от Ароера до Нево и Баал-Меона.

and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal-meon;

К востоку же они занимали земли до самого края пустыни, которая тянется к реке Евфрату, потому что их стада умножились в Галааде.

and eastward he dwelt as far as the entrance to the wilderness from the river Euphrates; for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

Во время правления Саула они вели войну с агарянами, которые пали от их рук. Они поселились в жилищах агарян по всем восточным землям Галаада.

And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout the east side of Gilead.

Гадиты жили рядом с ними в Башане до самой Салхи:

Descendants of Gad

And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salcah:

12

Иоиль был вождем, Шафам — вторым после него, потом Иаанай и Шафат — в Башане.

Joel was the chief and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

13

Их родичей по семьям было семеро:
Михаил, Мешуллам, Шева, Иорай, Иаакан, Зия и Евер.

And their brethren according to their fathers' houses were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jaachan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.

14

Это сыновья Авихаила, сына Хурия, сына Иароаха, сына Галаада, сына Михаила, сына Иешишая, сына Иахдо, сына Буза.

-- These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz:

15

Ахи, сын Авдиила, внук Гуни, был главой своего семейства.

15

Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was chief of their fathers' house.

16

Гадиты жили в Галааде, в Башане и в его городах и на всех пастбищах Шарона, до самых их пределов.

And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the pasture-grounds of Sharon, as far as their limits.

17

Все они были внесены в родословные записи во время правления Иотама, царя Иудеи, и Иеровоама, царя Израиля.

17

All these were registered by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18

У родов Рувима, Гада и половины рода Манассии было сорок четыре тысячи семьсот шестьдесят мужчин, пригодных к военной службе, — крепких мужчин, которые умели обращаться с щитом и мечом, натягивать лук и сражаться.

Victory over the Hagarites

The children of Reuben and the Gadites and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men who carried shield and sword, drawing the bow and skilful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, able to go forth to war.

19

Они вели войну с агарянами, Иетуром, Нафишем и Нодавом.

19

And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab;

20

Бог помог им в их сражении и отдал агарян и всех их союзников в их руки, потому что они взывали к Нему во время битвы. Он ответил на их молитвы, потому что они верили Ему.

20

and they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

21

Они захватили скот агарян — пятьдесят тысяч верблюдов, двести пятьдесят тысяч овец и две тысячи ослов. В плен они взяли сто тысяч человек,

And they took away their cattle: their camels fifty thousand, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand human souls.

22

и еще множество пало убитыми, потому что та война была по воле Божьей. Гадиты жили в их землях до плена.

For there fell down many slain, for the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.

23

Народ половины рода Манассии был многочислен. Они населяли страну от Башана до Баал-Хермона, Сенира и горы Хермон.

The Half-Tribe of Manasseh

And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan as far as Baal-Hermon and Senir, and mount Hermon; they were many.

24

Вот главы их семейств: Ефер, Иший, Элиэл, Азриил, Иеремия, Годавия и Иахдиил — доблестные воины, прославленные мужи, главы своих семейств.

And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Jishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

25

Но они нарушили верность Богу их отцов и предались блуду с богами народов страны, которых Бог истребил перед ними.

25

And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

26

И Бог Израиля побудил Пула ( он же Тиглатпаласар), царя Ассирии,49 и тот взял роды Рувима, Гада и половину рода Манассии в плен. Он увел их в Халах, Хавор, Ару и на реку Гозан, где они находятся и по сегодняшний день.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, -- unto this day.
