Isaiah 30

    — Горе упрямым детям, —
    возвещает Господь, —
    которые вынашивают замыслы, что не от Меня,
    заключают союз против Моей воли,
    к греху добавляют грех;

    Futile Confidence in Egypt

    “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the Lord,
    “Who take counsel, but not of Me,
    And who [a]devise plans, but not of My Spirit,
    That they may add sin to sin;

    ходят в Египет,
    не вопросив Меня;
    прибегают к защите фараона,
    ищут убежище в тени Египта.

    Who walk to go down to Egypt,
    And have not asked My advice,
    To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh,
    And to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

    Но защита фараона станет вашим стыдом,
    тень Египта принесет вам бесчестие.

    Therefore the strength of Pharaoh
    Shall be your shame,
    And trust in the shadow of Egypt
    Shall be your humiliation.

    And his ambassadors came to Hanes.

    Or be help or benefit,
    But a shame and also a reproach.”

    По земле беды и тягот,

    гадюк и змей-стрелок
    везут послы свои богатства на спинах ослов,
    свои сокровища — на горбах верблюжьих
    тому бесполезному народу,

    Through a land of trouble and anguish,
    From which came the lioness and lion,
    The viper and fiery flying serpent,
    They will carry their riches on the backs of young donkeys,
    And their treasures on the humps of camels,
    To a people who shall not profit;

    в Египет, чья помощь напрасна и ненадежна.

    For the Egyptians shall help in vain and to no purpose.
    Therefore I have called her
    [c]Rahab-Hem-Shebeth.

    — Итак, ступай, напиши им это на табличке,

    A Rebellious People

    Now go, write it before them on a tablet,
    And note it on a scroll,
    That it may be for time to come,
    Forever and ever:

    дети, что не хотят внимать учению154 Господа.

    That this is a rebellious people,
    Lying children,
    Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;

    Они говорят провидцам:
    «Перестаньте провидеть!» —
    и пророкам:
    «Не пророчествуйте нам истины!
    Говорите нам лестное,
    предсказывайте миражи.

    Who say to the seers, “Do not see,”
    And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;
    Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.

    Сойдите с этой дороги,
    уклонитесь от этого пути
    и уберите с наших глаз
    Святого Израилева!»

    Get out of the way,
    Turn aside from the path,
    Cause the Holy One of Israel
    To cease from before us.”

    Поэтому так говорит Святой Израилев:

    — Раз вы отвергли эту весть,
    понадеялись на угнетение
    и положились на ложь,

    Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:
    “Because you despise this word,
    And trust in oppression and perversity,
    And rely on them,

    то станет для вас этот грех
    точно высокая стена, что трескается, клонится
    и рушится внезапно, в одно мгновение.

    Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
    Like a breach ready to fall,
    A bulge in a high wall,
    Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.

    Она разобьется, словно глиняный сосуд,
    расколотый так беспощадно,
    что среди осколков не найдется черепка,
    чтобы взять из очага углей
    или зачерпнуть из водоема воды.

    And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel,
    Which is broken in pieces;
    He shall not spare.
    So there shall not be found among its fragments
    [d]A shard to take fire from the hearth,
    Or to take water from the cistern.”

    Так говорит Владыка Господь, Святой Израилев:

    — Ваше спасение — в покаянии и покое,
    ваша сила — в надежде и тишине,
    но вы не захотели этого.

    For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:
    “In returning and rest you shall be saved;
    In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
    But you would not,
  • 16

    Вы сказали: «Нет, мы умчимся на конях».
    Что ж, вы умчитесь!
    Вы сказали: «Мы ускачем на быстрых конях!»
    Что ж, и погоня за вами будет быстрой!

    And you said, “No, for we will flee on horses” —
    Therefore you shall flee!
    And, “We will ride on swift horses” —
    Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!

    Тысяча побежит от страха перед одним,
    от страха перед пятью побежите вы все,
    пока не останетесь,
    словно флагшток на вершине горы,
    словно знамя на холме.

    One thousand shall flee at the threat of one,
    At the threat of five you shall flee,
    Till you are left as a [e]pole on top of a mountain
    And as a banner on a hill.

    Но Господь медлит, чтобы помиловать вас;
    Он поднимется, чтобы сжалиться над вами.
    Ведь Господь — Бог правосудия.
    Блаженны все, кто Его ожидает!

    God Will Be Gracious

    Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
    And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
    For the Lord is a God of justice;
    Blessed are all those who wait for Him.

    Воистину, о народ Сиона, жители Иерусалима, вы не будете больше плакать. Он непременно помилует вас, когда вы воззовете к Нему! Едва лишь услышав, Он ответит вам.

    For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem;
    You shall weep no more.
    He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry;
    When He hears it, He will answer you.

    Хотя Владыка и даст вам хлеб напасти и воду беды, ваши учители больше не будут скрываться; вы своими глазами увидите своих учителей.

    And though the Lord gives you
    The bread of adversity and the water of [f]affliction,
    Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore,
    But your eyes shall see your teachers.

    Направо ли вы повернете или налево, ваши уши услышат голос сзади, говорящий: «Вот путь; идите по нему».

    Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
    “This is the way, walk in it,”
    Whenever you turn to the right hand
    Or whenever you turn to the left.

    Тогда вы посчитаете скверною своих идолов, покрытых серебром, и свои изваяния, покрытые золотом; вы отбросите их, как нечистое тряпье, и скажете им: «Прочь!»

    You will also defile the covering of your images of silver,
    And the ornament of your molded images of gold.
    You will throw them away as an unclean thing;
    You will say to them, “Get away!”

    Еще Он пошлет вам дождь для зерна, которое вы сажаете в землю, и тогда пища, которую родит земля, будет хороша и обильна. В тот день твой скот будет пастись на широких лугах.

    Then He will give the rain for your seed
    With which you sow the ground,
    And bread of the increase of the earth;
    It will be [g]fat and plentiful.
    In that day your cattle will feed
    In large pastures.

    Волы и ослы, пашущие землю, будут есть силос, провеянный лопатой и вилами.

    Likewise the oxen and the young donkeys that work the ground
    Will eat cured fodder,
    Which has been winnowed with the shovel and fan.

    В день великой бойни, когда обрушатся башни, по каждой высокой горе и по каждому высокому холму побегут потоки воды.

    There will be on every high mountain
    And on every high hill
    Rivers and streams of waters,
    In the day of the great slaughter,
    When the towers fall.

    Луна будет сиять, как солнце, а солнечный свет станет в семь раз ярче, словно свет семи полных дней, когда Господь перевяжет язвы Своего народа и исцелит раны, которые Он нанес.

    Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun,
    And the light of the sun will be sevenfold,
    As the light of seven days,
    In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people
    And heals the stroke of their wound.

    Вот, имя Господне идет издалека,
    пылая гневом, в густом облаке дыма;
    уста Его полны негодования,
    и язык Его — пожирающий огонь.

    Judgment on Assyria

    Behold, the name of the Lord comes from afar,
    Burning with His anger,
    And His burden is heavy;
    His lips are full of indignation,
    And His tongue like a devouring fire.

    Дыхание Его, как разливающийся поток,
    поднимающийся до шеи.
    Он просеивает народы в решете гибели;
    Он вкладывает в челюсти народов узду,
    которая уводит их с пути.

    His breath is like an overflowing stream,
    Which reaches up to the neck,
    To sift the nations with the sieve of futility;
    And there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people,
    Causing them to err.

    Вы будете петь, как в ночь,
    когда празднуете священный праздник.
    Ваши сердца будут ликовать,
    как у идущих под пение свирели
    на гору Господа, к Скале Израиля.

    You shall have a song
    As in the night when a holy festival is kept,
    And gladness of heart as when one goes with a flute,
    To come into the mountain of the Lord,
    To [h]the Mighty One of Israel.

    Господь даст людям услышать Свой величественный голос
    и явит им Свою мышцу,
    которая обрушится в ударе
    с лютым гневом и пожирающим огнем,
    с ливнем, бурей и градом.

    The Lord will cause His glorious voice to be heard,
    And show the descent of His arm,
    With the indignation of His anger
    And the flame of a devouring fire,
    With scattering, tempest, and hailstones.

    Голос Господа потрясет Ассирию;
    Он поразит ее Своим скипетром.

    For through the voice of the Lord
    Assyria will be [i]beaten down,
    As He strikes with the rod.

    Каждый удар, который Господь нанесет им
    Своим карающим жезлом,
    будет под музыку бубнов и арф,
    когда Он сразится с ними в бою ударами Своей мышцы.

    And in every place where the staff of punishment passes,
    Which the Lord lays on him,
    It will be with tambourines and harps;
    And in battles of brandishing He will fight with it.

    Место для сожжения155 давно готово,
    приготовлено для ассирийского царя.156
    Огненная яма сделана глубокой и широкой,
    вдоволь в ней и огня, и дров;
    дыхание Господа зажжет ее,
    как поток горящей серы.

    For Tophet was established of old,
    Yes, for the king it is prepared.
    He has made it deep and large;
    Its pyre is fire with much wood;
    The breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone,
    Kindles it.
