Isaiah 34

    Подойдите, народы, чтобы слушать,
    внимайте, племена!
    Пусть слышит земля и все, что ее наполняет,
    мир и все, что рождается в нем!

    Judgment on the Nations

    Draw near, O nations, to hear,
    and give attention, O peoples!
    Let the earth hear, and all that fills it;
    the world, and all that comes from it.

    Господь разгневан на все народы;
    ярость Его на все их полчища.
    Он обрек их полному уничтожению,165
    предал их на бойню.

    For the Lord is enraged against all the nations,
    and furious against all their host;
    he has devoted them to destruction,a has given them over for slaughter.

    Их убитые будут разбросаны,
    трупы их будут смердеть;
    от их крови размокнут горы.

    Their slain shall be cast out,
    and the stench of their corpses shall rise;
    the mountains shall flow with their blood.

    Звезды на небе истлеют,
    и небо свернется, как свиток;
    все звездное воинство падет,
    как пожухшие листья с лозы,
    как засохший плод с инжира.

    All the host of heaven shall rot away,
    and the skies roll up like a scroll.
    All their host shall fall,
    as leaves fall from the vine,
    like leaves falling from the fig tree.

    — Меч Мой упился на небесах;
    вот, он нисходит для суда на Эдом,166
    на обреченный Мною народ.

    For my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens;
    behold, it descends for judgment upon Edom,
    upon the people I have devoted to destruction.

    Меч Господень омылся кровью,
    жиром покрыт —
    кровью ягнят и козлят,
    жиром бараньих почек,
    потому что у Господа жертва в Боцре
    и великая бойня в Эдоме.

    The Lord has a sword; it is sated with blood;
    it is gorged with fat,
    with the blood of lambs and goats,
    with the fat of the kidneys of rams.
    For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah,
    a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

    С ними падут и дикие быки,
    как телята, так и взрослые.
    Кровью упьется земля,
    и пропитается жиром пыль,

    Wild oxen shall fall with them,
    and young steers with the mighty bulls.
    Their land shall drink its fill of blood,
    and their soil shall be gorged with fat.

    потому что Господь определил день мщения,
    год воздаяния по тяжбе Сиона.

    For the Lord has a day of vengeance,
    a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

    Потоки Эдома превратятся в смолу,
    пыль его — в серу;
    земля его станет горящей смолой!

    And the streams of Edomb shall be turned into pitch,
    and her soil into sulfur;
    her land shall become burning pitch.

    Она не будет гаснуть ни днем, ни ночью;
    дым ее будет подниматься вечно.
    Из поколения в поколение будет она в запустении;
    человек на нее не ступит во веки веков.

    Night and day it shall not be quenched;
    its smoke shall go up forever.
    From generation to generation it shall lie waste;
    none shall pass through it forever and ever.

    Завладеют ею пустынные совы167 и ежи,
    филины и вороны будут жить в ней.
    Бог протянет над нею
    мерку пустоты
    и свинцовый отвес безликости.

    But the hawk and the porcupinec shall possess it,
    the owl and the raven shall dwell in it.
    He shall stretch the line of confusiond over it,
    and the plumb line of emptiness.

    Скажут о ней: «Нет-там-царства»,
    все правители ее станут ничем.

    Its nobles — there is no one there to call it a kingdom,
    and all its princes shall be nothing.

    На ее дворцах вырастет терновник,
    на ее крепостях — крапива с колючками.
    Она станет логовом шакальим,
    жилищем сов.

    Thorns shall grow over its strongholds,
    nettles and thistles in its fortresses.
    It shall be the haunt of jackals,
    an abode for ostriches.e

    Там будут встречаться звери пустыни с гиенами,
    дикие козлы перекликаться друг с другом;
    ночная живность168 будет там отдыхать
    и находить себе место покоя.

    And wild animals shall meet with hyenas;
    the wild goat shall cry to his fellow;
    indeed, there the night birdf settles
    and finds for herself a resting place.

    Совы там будут гнездиться и откладывать яйца,
    высиживать и собирать птенцов под тень своих крыльев.
    Там будут собираться и коршуны,
    каждый со своей парой.

    There the owl nests and lays
    and hatches and gathers her young in her shadow;
    indeed, there the hawks are gathered,
    each one with her mate.

    Отыщите в книге Господней и прочитайте:

    ни одна из этих тварей не будет упущена,
    и каждая будет с парой.
    Ведь Его уста отдали повеление,
    и Его Дух соберет их.

    Seek and read from the book of the Lord:
    Not one of these shall be missing;
    none shall be without her mate.
    For the mouth of the Lord has commanded,
    and his Spirit has gathered them.

    Он наделяет их уделами;
    Его рука раздает их по мерке.
    Они будут владеть ими вечно
    и жить в них из поколения в поколение.

    He has cast the lot for them;
    his hand has portioned it out to them with the line;
    they shall possess it forever;
    from generation to generation they shall dwell in it.
