Greetings from Paul

Paul and Timotheus, bondmen of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with [the] overseers and ministers;

Благодать и мир вам от Бога, Отца нашего, и Господа Иисуса Христа.

grace to you, and peace from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

Я всегда благодарю моего Бога, вспоминая о вас

Thanksgiving and Prayer

I thank my God for my whole remembrance of you,

4

всегда в каждой моей молитве за всех вас. Я молюсь с радостью,

constantly in my every supplication, making the supplication for you all with joy,

5

потому что вы с первого дня и доныне участвуете со мной в служении возвещения Радостной Вести.

because of your fellowship with the gospel, from the first day until now;

6

Я уверен, что Тот, Кто начал в вас это доброе дело, доведет его до конца ко дню возвращения Иисуса Христа.

having confidence of this very thing, that he who has begun in you a good work will complete it unto Jesus Christ's day:

7

Мне и подобает так думать о вас, потому что вы в моем сердце. Вы все разделяете со мной благодать Божью, как в узах моих, так и в защите и утверждении Радостной Вести.

as it is righteous for me to think this as to you all, because ye have *me* in your hearts, and that both in my bonds and in the defence and confirmation of the glad tidings ye are all participators in my grace.

Бог свидетель тому, как я люблю всех вас любовью Иисуса Христа.

For God is my witness how I long after you all in [the] bowels of Christ Jesus.

9

И я молюсь о том, чтобы ваша любовь возрастала, обогащалась знанием и всякой рассудительностью,

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in full knowledge and all intelligence,

10

чтобы вы могли определить, в чем заключается лучшее для вас, чтобы вы были чисты и беспорочны в День Христа

that ye may judge of and approve the things that are more excellent, in order that ye may be pure and without offence for Christ's day,

11

и принесли плод праведности, который появляется через Иисуса Христа для прославления Бога и хвалы Ему.

being complete as regards the fruit of righteousness, which [is] by Jesus Christ, to God's glory and praise.

12

Хочу, чтобы вы знали, братья, что все, что произошло со мной, послужило успеху возвещения Радостной Вести.

Paul's Trials Advance the Gospel

But I would have you know, brethren, that the circumstances in which I am have turned out rather to the furtherance of the glad tidings,

13

Сейчас всем императорским стражникам и всем прочим известно, что я нахожусь в заключении за Христа.

so that my bonds have become manifest [as being] in Christ in all the praetorium and to all others;

14

Благодаря моему заключению, большинство братьев укрепились в вере в Господа и смелее и бесстрашнее возвещают слово Божье.

and that the most of the brethren, trusting in [the] Lord through my bonds, dare more abundantly to speak the word of God fearlessly.

15

Правда и то, что некоторые возвещают Христа из-за зависти и соперничества друг с другом, но другие возвещают из самых добрых побуждений.

15

Some indeed also for envy and strife, but some also for good will, preach the Christ.

16

Они руководствуются любовью, понимая, что я помещен сюда, чтобы защищать Радостную Весть,

These indeed out of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the glad tidings;

17

тогда как первые возвещают Христа из эгоистичных побуждений, неискренне, желая доставить мне здесь, в заключении, больше трудностей.

but those out of contention, announce the Christ, not purely, supposing to arouse tribulation for my bonds.

18

Ну что же? Ложные или искренние побуждения ими руководят, главное, что они говорят о Христе, и я рад этому.
И я не перестану радоваться,

What is it then? at any rate, in every way, whether in pretext or in truth, Christ is announced; and in this I rejoice, yea, also I will rejoice;

19

зная, что благодаря вашим молитвам и с помощью Духа Иисуса Христа1 все это в конце концов обратится мне во спасение.2

for I know that this shall turn out for me to salvation, through your supplication and [the] supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ;

20

Я со всей силою желаю и надеюсь, что мне не придется стыдиться за себя, но, как всегда, так и теперь, я буду тверд и смел, чтобы Христос прославился в моем теле, будь то через мою жизнь или смерть.

20

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but in all boldness, as always, now also Christ shall be magnified in my body whether by life or by death.

21

Для меня жизнь — это Христос, и смерть — приобретение.

To Live is Christ

For for me to live [is] Christ, and to die gain;

22

Если мне предстоит еще жить в теле, то для меня это означает плодотворную работу. Но что мне лучше выбрать, я не знаю.

but if to live in flesh [is my lot], this is for me worth the while: and what I shall choose I cannot tell.

23

Я стою на распутье: мне хочется уйти из этой жизни и быть со Христом, что лучше всего,

But I am pressed by both, having the desire for departure and being with Christ, [for] [it is] very much better,

24

но для вас лучше, чтобы я еще жил.

24

but remaining in the flesh [is] more necessary for your sakes;

25

Я убежден в этом и знаю, что буду жить и продолжать мое служение, чтобы возрастала ваша радость, чтобы вы продвинулись в вере

25

and having confidence of this, I know that I shall remain and abide along with you all, for your progress and joy in faith;

26

и чтобы, когда я вновь буду с вами, у вас было еще больше поводов гордиться тем, что Иисус Христос сделал через меня.

26

that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus through me by my presence again with you.

27

Что бы ни случилось, живите достойно Радостной Вести Христа. Увижу я вас или же до меня дойдут только слухи о вас, я буду знать, что вы непоколебимы в своем единстве, что вы плечом к плечу стоите твердо за веру, основанную на Радостной Вести,

Be Worthy of the Gospel

Only conduct yourselves worthily of the glad tidings of the Christ, in order that whether coming and seeing you, or absent, I may hear of what concerns you, that ye stand firm in one spirit, with one soul, labouring together in the same conflict with the faith of the glad tidings;

28

и что вас не пугают противники. Это уже говорит им о том, что они погибнут, а вы будете спасены; и это от Бога.

and not frightened in anything by the opposers, which is to them a demonstration of destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God;

29

Вам было дано не только верить во Христа, но и страдать за Него.

29

because to you has been given, as regards Christ, not only the believing on him but the suffering for him also,

30

Вы встречаете те же трудности, какие я встречал раньше и какие, как вам известно, я переношу сейчас.

30

having the same conflict which ye have seen in me, and now hear of in me.
