    Abraham and Keturah

    Abraham again took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

    Она родила ему Зимрана, Иокшана, Медана, Мадиана, Ишбака и Шуаха.

    And she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
  • 3
    Иокшан родил Шеву и Дедана. Сыны Дедана были: Ашурим, Летушим и Леюмим.

    Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.

    Сыны Мадиана: Ефа, Ефер, Ханох, Авида и Елдага. Все сии сыны Хеттуры.

    And the sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

    И отдал Авраам всё, что было у него, Исааку,

    And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

    а сынам наложниц, которые были у Авраама, дал Авраам подарки и отослал их от Исаака, сына своего, ещё при жизни своей, на восток, в землю восточную.

    But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the concubines which Abraham had; and while he was still living he sent them eastward, away from Isaac his son, to the country of the east.

    Дней жизни Авраамовой, которые он прожил, было сто семьдесят пять лет;

    Abraham’s Death and Burial

    This is the sum of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived: one hundred and seventy-five years.

    и скончался Авраам, и умер в старости доброй, престарелый и насыщенный жизнью, и приложился к народу своему.

    Then Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people.

    И погребли его Исаак и Измаил, сыновья его, в пещере Махпеле, на поле Ефрона, сына Цохара, Хеттеянина, которое против Мамре,

    And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite,

    на поле, которые Авраам приобрел от сынов Хетовых. Там погребены Авраам и Сарра, жена его.

    the field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth. There Abraham was buried, and Sarah his wife.

    По смерти Авраама Бог благословил Исаака, сына его. Исаак жил при Беэр-лахай-рои.

    And it came to pass, after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer Lahai Roi.

    The Families of Ishmael and Isaac

    Now this is the genealogy of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s maidservant, bore to Abraham.

    и вот имена сынов Измаиловых, имена их по родословию их: первенец Измаилов Наваиоф, за ним Кедар, Адбеел, Мивсам,

    And these were the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

    Mishma, Dumah, Massa,

    Хадад, Фема, Иетур, Нафиш и Кедма.

    [a]Hadar, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.

    Сии суть сыны Измаиловы, и сии имена их, в селениях их, в кочевьях их. Это двенадцать князей племён их.

    These were the sons of Ishmael and these were their names, by their towns and their [b]settlements, twelve princes according to their nations.

    Лет же жизни Измаиловой было сто тридцать семь лет; и скончался он, и умер, и приложился к народу своему.

    These were the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.

    Они жили от Хавилы до Сура, что пред Египтом, как идёшь к Ассирии. Они поселились пред лицом всех братьев своих.

    (They dwelt from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt as you go toward Assyria.) He [c]died in the presence of all his brethren.

    Вот родословие Исаака, сына Авраамова. Авраам родил Исаака.

    This is the genealogy of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham begot Isaac.

    Исаак был сорока лет, когда он взял себе в жену Ревекку, дочь Вафуила Арамеянина из Месопотамии, сестру Лавана Арамеянина.

    Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

    И молился Исаак Господу о жене своей, потому что она была неплодна; и Господь услышал его, и зачала Ревекка, жена его.

    Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

    Сыновья в утробе её стали биться, и она сказала: если так будет, то для чего мне это? И пошла вопросить Господа.

    But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.
  • 23
    Господь сказал ей: два племени во чреве твоём, и два различных народа произойдут из утробы твоей; один народ сделается сильнее другого, и больший будет служить меньшему.

    And the Lord said to her:
    “Two nations are in your womb,
    Two peoples shall be separated from your body;
    One people shall be stronger than the other,
    And the older shall serve the younger.”

    И настало время родить ей: и вот, близнецы в утробе её.
  • 24
    So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb.
  • 25
    Первый вышел красный, весь, как кожа, косматый; и нарекли ему имя Исав.

    And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name [d]Esau.
  • 26
    Потом вышел брат его, держась рукою своею за пяту Исава; и наречено ему имя Иаков. Исаак же был шестидесяти лет, когда они родились.

    Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called [e]Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.

    Дети выросли, и стал Исав человеком искусным в звероловстве, человеком полей; а Иаков человеком кротким, живущим в шатрах.

    So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a [f]mild man, dwelling in tents.

    Исаак любил Исава, потому что дичь его была по вкусу его, а Ревекка любила Иакова.

    And Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

    И сварил Иаков кушанье; а Исав пришёл с поля усталый.

    Esau Sells His Birthright

    Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary.

    И сказал Исав Иакову: дай мне поесть красного, красного этого, ибо я устал. От сего дано ему прозвание: Едом.

    And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called [g]Edom.

    Но Иаков сказал: продай мне теперь же своё первородство.
  • 31
    But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.”
  • 32
    Исав сказал: вот, я умираю, что мне в этом первородстве?
  • 32
    And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”
  • 33
    Иаков сказал: поклянись мне теперь же. Он поклялся ему и продал первородство своё Иакову.

    Then Jacob said, [h]“Swear to me as of this day.”
    So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.

    И дал Иаков Исаву хлеба и кушанья из чечевицы; и он ел и пил, и встал и пошёл; и пренебрёг Исав первородство.

    And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
