подожди меня немного, и я покажу тебе, что я имею ещё что сказать за Бога.
Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God.
Начну мои рассуждения издалека и воздам Создателю моему справедливость,
I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.
потому что слова мои точно не ложь: пред тобою — совершенный в познаниях.
For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee.
Вот, Бог могуществен и не презирает сильного крепостью сердца;
Lo, God is mighty, but despiseth not [any]; mighty in strength of understanding:
Он не поддерживает нечестивых и воздаёт должное угнетённым;
He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.
Он не отвращает очей Своих от праведников, но с царями навсегда посаждает их на престоле, и они возвышаются.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted.
Если же они окованы цепями и содержатся в узах бедствия,
And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,
то Он указывает им на дела их и на беззакония их, потому что умножились,
Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased.
и открывает их ухо для вразумления и говорит им, чтоб они отстали от нечестия.
And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
Если послушают и будут служить Ему, то проведут дни свои в благополучии и лета свои в радости;
If they hearken and serve [him], they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
если же не послушают, то погибнут от стрелы и умрут в неразумии.
But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge.
Но лицемеры питают в сердце гнев и не взывают к Нему, когда Он заключает их в узы;
But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:
поэтому душа их умирает в молодости и жизнь их с блудниками.
Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
Он спасает бедного от беды его и в угнетении открывает ухо его.
But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in [their] oppression.
И тебя вывел бы Он из тесноты на простор, где нет стеснения, и поставляемое на стол твой было бы наполнено туком;
Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table [would be] full of fatness.
но ты преисполнен суждениями нечестивых: суждение и осуждение — близки.
But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
Да не поразит тебя гнев Божий наказанием! Большой выкуп не спасёт тебя.
Because there is wrath, [beware] lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.
Даст ли Он какую цену твоему богатству? Нет, — ни золоту и никакому сокровищу.
Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!
Не желай той ночи, когда народы истребляются на своём месте.
Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.
Берегись, не склоняйся к нечестию, которое ты предпочёл страданию.
Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
Бог высок могуществом Своим, и кто такой, как Он, наставник?
Lo, God is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?
Кто укажет Ему путь Его; кто может сказать: «Ты поступаешь несправедливо»?
Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?
Помни о том, чтобы превозносить дела Его, которые люди видят.
Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.
Все люди могут видеть их; человек может усматривать их издали.
All men look at it; man beholdeth [it] afar off.
Вот, Бог велик, и мы не можем познать Его; число лет Его неисследимо.
Lo, God is great, and we comprehend [him] not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
Он собирает капли воды; они во множестве изливаются дождём:
For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,
из облаков каплют и изливаются обильно на людей.
Which the skies pour down [and] drop upon man abundantly.
Кто может также постигнуть протяжение облаков, треск шатра Его?
But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, [or] the crashing of his pavilion?
Вот, Он распространяет над ним свет Свой и покрывает дно моря.
Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
Оттуда Он судит народы, даёт пищу в изобилии.
For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance.
Он сокрывает в дланях Своих молнию и повелевает ей, кого разить.
[His] hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike.
