Ибо всякий первосвященник, из человеков избираемый, для человеков поставляется на служение Богу, чтобы приносить дары и жертвы за грехи,
For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.
могущий снисходить невежествующим и заблуждающим, потому что и сам обложен немощью,
He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness.
и посему он должен как за народ, так и за себя приносить жертвы о грехах.
Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people.
И никто сам собою не приемлет этой чести, но призываемый Богом, как и Аарон.
And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.
Так и Христос не Сам Себе присвоил славу быть первосвященником, но Тот, Кто сказал Ему: «Ты Сын Мой, Я ныне родил Тебя»;
So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him,
“You are my Son,
today I have begotten you”;

as he says also in another place,
“You are a priest forever,
after the order of Melchizedek.”

Он, во дни плоти Своей, с сильным воплем и со слезами принёс молитвы и моления Могущему спасти Его от смерти; и услышан был за Своё благоговение;

Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.
и, совершившись, сделался для всех послушных Ему виновником спасения вечного,
And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,
быв наречён от Бога Первосвященником по чину Мелхиседека.

О сём надлежало бы нам говорить много; но трудно истолковать, потому что вы сделались не способны слушать.

Всякий, питаемый молоком, несведущ в слове правды, потому что он младенец;
for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child.
