"Слушайте слова мои внимательно, и это будет мне утешеньем от вас.
Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
Будьте терпеливы, когда я говорю; а когда я скажу, можете надо мной смеяться.
Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
Разве я жалуюсь на человека? Нет! Есть веская причина тому, что я нетерпелив!
As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
Взгляните на меня и удивитесь — стукните себя по губам.
Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
Стоит мне подумать, и я ужасаюсь и начинаю трястись.
Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
Почему злобные доживают до старости и сила их крепнет?
Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
Они видят детей своих вокруг себя, и внуки у них перед глазами.
Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
Их дома не ведают страха, и Божий жезл не занесён над ними.
Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
Их быки всегда в силе, и коровы приносят телят.
Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
Их дети во множестве, словно стадо, их маленькие танцуют.
They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
Они поют под звуки тамбуринов и арф, они веселятся под пение флейты.
They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
И годы их проходят в благоденствии, и с миром уходят они в могилы.
They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
И говорят они Богу: "Оставь нас в покое, не нужны нам Твои пути.
Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
Кто Он, Всемогущий, чтоб мы служили Ему? Что получим от молений к Нему?"
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
Верно, что их успех не у них в руках, и я воздерживаюсь от советов нечестивых.
Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
И все же, как часто Господь задувает свет для злобных? Как часто к ним несчастия приходят, и часто ли во гневе наказывает их Господь?
How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
Как часто уподоблены они соломе, несомой ветром, иль пыли, сметённой ураганом?
They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
Ты говоришь: "Бог детей наказывает за отцов ". Пусть же Он накажет злого человека, чтобы тот знал за что наказан он.
God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
Пусть сам увидит он своё крушенье, и выпьет Всемогущего он гнев.
His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
Ему нет дела до семьи, когда к концу подходят дни.
For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
Кто может Бога мудрости учить, если судит Он высоко сидящих?
Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
Один умирает в полноте своих сил, в безопасности и покое.
One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
Тело его хорошо накормлено, и кости всё ещё крепки.
His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
Другой умирает в горечи, не успев ничему порадоваться.
And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
Но рядом во прахе они лежат, и черви их покрывают.
They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
Я ваши мысли знаю хорошо и ваши планы обвинить меня.
Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
Вы скажете: "Где дом вельможи, и где шатёр, в котором обитает грешник?"
For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
Вы, конечно же, наслушались историй путешественников и, конечно же, верите их рассказам
Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
о том, что злобных дни несчастий не коснутся, дни гнева Божьего их не затронут.
That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
Никто в лицо не осуждает злого за сделанное зло.
Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
Когда его хоронят, у его могилы ставят стражу.
Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
И твёрдая земля долины ему приятна, и тысячи людей его проводят до могилы.
The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
