Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
Они изгибаются от боли — и рождаются их дети.
They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.
Дети этих зверей набирают силу в полях, затем покидают своих матерей и никогда не приходят назад.
Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
Они смеются над шумными городами, и никто не в состоянии ими управлять.
He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.
Они живут в горах — там пастбища для них, там пропитание они себе находят.
The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
Позволит ли тебе, Иов, себя запрячь для пашни дикий бык?
Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
Силён дикий бык, но доверишь ли ты ему свою работу?
Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
Доверишь ли ты ему сбор урожая, чтоб он принёс его на гумно?
Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
Страус, когда взволнован, машет своими крыльями, но взлететь он не может — крылья его и перья не те, что у аиста.
Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
Страус откладывает яйца в песке — их песок согревает.
Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
Он забывает, что кто-нибудь может на них наступить или их может разбить зверь.
And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
Страус детей бросает, будто они чужие, если они умирают, страусу всё равно. Весь его труд напрасен.
She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;
Я не дал страусу мудрости, страус глуп — Я таким его сотворил.
Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
Но когда он встаёт для бега, он смеётся над лошадью и ездоком, потому что страус быстрее любого коня.
What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
Ты ли, Иов, дал силу коню, ты ли украсил его шею гривой?
Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?
Ты ль заставляешь прыгать коня, как саранчу? Кони громко хрипят, и это пугает людей.
Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
Конь счастлив своею силой, он бьёт по земле копытом и мчится битве навстречу.
He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
Конь смеётся над страхом — он не бежит с поля битвы.
He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.
Колчан звенит с боку коня, копьё и оружие всадника сверкают на солнце.
The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
Конь возбужден битвой, он летит над землёю и не может стоять при звуке трубы.
He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
Конь ржёт под звук трубы, он издалёка чует битву и слышит крик и голоса вождей.
He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
Ты ли, Иов, ястреба научил раскидывать крылья и лететь на юг?
Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
Ты ли сказал орлу парить высоко в небе и вить гнездо в горах?
Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
Орел живет на скале, она — его крепость.
She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
Оттуда он себе высматривает пищу — он может видеть очень далеко.
From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
