Ezekiel as Israel's Watchman
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
"Сын человеческий, обратись к своим людям и скажи им: "Я, возможно, приведу против них вражеских солдат, и когда это случится, люди изберут из своей среды стражника.
Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them all, and set him for their watchman:
И если этот стражник увидит вражеских солдат, он затрубит в трубу, предупреждая людей своих.
if he see the sword coming upon the land, and blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
И если люди, слыша его сигнал, не придадут ему значения, враг возьмёт их в плен. Те люди будут сами отвечать за свою смерть.
then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword come and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
Они слышали звук трубы, но не придали значения, поэтому некого, кроме них, обвинять в их смерти. И если бы они обратили внимание на сигнал, то спасли бы свою жизнь.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood is upon him: whereas had he taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.
Но если стражник увидит врагов и не протрубит сигнал, значит он не предупредил об опасности, враг нападёт на них и захватит пленных за их грехи. Этот стражник будет отвечать за смерть людей".
But if the watchman see the sword coming, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, if the sword come and take a person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
Теперь, сын человеческий, Я избираю тебя стражником для семьи Израиля, и если ты слышишь Мою весть, ты должен предупредить людей от Меня.
So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; and thou shalt hear the word from my mouth, and warn them from me.
Если Я скажу тебе, что этот злой человек умрёт, ты должен пойти и предупредить его от Меня. Если ты не предупредишь его, этот человек не сможет изменить свою жизнь и умрёт от грехов своих. Но Я заставлю тебя отвечать за его смерть.
When I say unto the wicked, Wicked [man], thou shalt certainly die; and thou speakest not to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand.
Ибо, если ты предупреждаешь, чтобы он прекратил грехи свои, а он отказывается, то он от грехов своих и умрёт, но ты спас свою жизнь, предупредив его".
But if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
"Поэтому говори, сын человеческий, с людьми Израиля от Меня. Они могут сказать: "Мы грешили и нарушили заповедь, наши грехи слишком тяжелы, чтобы их можно было перенести, мы гниём от них. Что можно сделать, чтобы жизни наши продолжились?"
The Message of the Watchman
And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel, Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we waste away in them, how then should we live?

Ты им должен ответить: "Господь Всемогущий говорит: Моею жизнью клянусь, что не хочу видеть людей умирающими, даже злых людей. Я не хочу, чтобы они умирали, Я хочу, чтобы они возвратились ко Мне, чтобы изменили свои жизни. Так что вернитесь ко Мне, прекратите грехи ваши. Для чего умирать тебе, семья Израиля?"
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
И скажи, сын человеческий, людям своим: "Хорошее, сделанное в прошлом, не спасёт человека, если он стал грешником. И плохое не уничтожит человека, если он отвернулся от своего зла. Так помни, что хорошее, сделанное человеком раньше, не спасёт его, если он начинает грешить".
And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.
Я могу сказать праведнику, что он будет жить, и он, надеясь на свои прошлые заслуги, начнёт творить зло. Тогда Я не буду помнить его прошлого добра, он умрёт от своих недавних недобрых дел.
When I say to the righteous that he shall certainly live, and he trusteth to his righteousness and doeth what is wrong, none of his righteous acts shall be remembered; but in his unrighteousness which he hath done, in it shall he die.
Или плохому человеку Я могу предсказать смерть, но он изменит свою жизнь и остановится во грехе, станет праведником.
And when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt certainly die, and he turneth from his sin, and doeth judgment and justice;
Он может возвратить залог, который брал, когда давал в долг, заплатить за всё, что прежде украл, может следовать законам, которые он прежде нарушал, и прекратить своё зло. Тогда он останется жить.
if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, doing nothing that is wrong; he shall certainly live, he shall not die.
Я не буду помнить его зла в прошлом, ибо он стал хорошим человеком. Он будет жить.
None of his sins which he hath committed shall be remembered against him: he hath done judgment and justice; he shall certainly live.
Но люди твои говорят: "Это несправедливо, Господь таким быть не может". Но это они несправедливы.
Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
Если праведник начинает грешить, тогда он умрёт от грехов своих.
When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and doeth what is wrong, then he shall die therein.
Если злой человек останавливается во зле и начинает жить праведно, он останется жить.
And when the wicked turneth from his wickedness, and doeth judgment and justice, he shall live for these things.
Но вы, люди, всё говорите, что Я несправедлив, тогда как Я говорю вам истину. Семья Израиля, Я буду судить каждого из вас за то, что он сделал".
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
На пятый день десятого месяца (декабря) двенадцатого года изгнания пришёл ко мне человек из Иерусалима, уцелевший в битве, и сказал: "Иерусалим взят".
Explanation of Jerusalem's Fall
And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth [month], on the fifth of the month, that one who had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten!

Но ещё до прихода этого человека сила Господа Всемогущего сошла на меня, Господь отворил мои уста в момент прихода этого человека и позволил мне вновь говорить.
Now the hand of Jehovah had been upon me in the evening, before he that had escaped came; and he had opened my mouth against his coming to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
Тогда слово Господа вселилось в меня, и Он сказал:
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
"Сын человеческий, есть те, кто живёт в руинах города земли Израиля. Они говорят, что Авраам был только человеком, которому Бог дал эту землю. Теперь же нас много, и нет сомнения, что эта земля принадлежит нам, это наша земля.
Son of man, they that inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited this land, and we are many: the land is given us for a possession.
Ты им должен ответить, что Господь Всемогущий говорит: "Вы едите мясо с кровью, вы смотрите с надеждой на своих идолов, вы убиваете людей, почему же Я должен отдать вам эту землю?
Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood; and shall ye possess the land?
Вы зависимы от меча своего, каждый из вас поступает мерзко, прелюбодействует с женой соседа, как же вы можете владеть этой землей?
Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife; and shall ye possess the land?
Ты должен им передать, что Господь так говорит: "Клянусь Моей жизнью, что люди, живущие в руинах, будут убиты мечом. Тех, кто будет в открытой местности, Я отдам на съедение зверям. Те, кто спрячется в крепостях и пещерах, умрут от болезни.
Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: [As] I live, verily they that are in the waste places shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
Я опустошу землю, страна потеряет всё, чем она гордилась, горы опустеют, и никто не пройдёт по этой земле.
And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment, and the pride of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolated, so that none shall pass through.
Эти люди во многом повинны, поэтому Я превращу эту землю в пустыню, и люди узнают, что Я — Господь".
And they shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment because of all their abominations which they have committed.
А теперь, сын человеческий, о тебе: Люди твои прислонились к стене, стоя на пороге, и говорят о тебе. Они говорят: "Пойдём послушаем что говорит Господь".
And as for thee, son of man, the children of thy people keep talking of thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from Jehovah.
И они приходят к тебе, как Мои люди, сидят перед тобой и слушают твои слова, но делать то, что ты им говоришь, они не будут. Они говорят приятное, но они просто хотят обмануть друг друга, чтобы сделать больше денег.
And they come unto thee as a people cometh, and they sit before thee [as] my people, and they hear thy words, but they do them not; for with their mouth they shew much love, [but] their heart goeth after their dishonest gain.
Ты для этих людей — ничто, ты певец с красивым голосом, ты хорошо играешь. Они слышат слова твои, но делать ничего не станут.
And behold, thou art unto them as a lovely song, a pleasant voice, and one that playeth well on an instrument; and they hear thy words, but they do them not.
