И ответил Господь: "Запиши видение, ясно и точно перенеси слова на скрижали так, чтобы гонец мог бежать с ними, а люди могли легко прочесть их.
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Это весть о назначенном времени в будущем. Она говорит о конце и это непременно сбудется. Если даже и придёт конец с опозданием, всё равно, будь терпелив и жди, ибо не отменится он и обязательно сбудется.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Эта весть не поможет тем, кто отказывается её слушать, но праведные люди поверят ей и будут жить за свою веру".
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Бог сказал: "Вино обманывает человека, надменность может одурачить сильного, но не найдёт он себе покоя. Он ненасытен, как смерть, и, как смерть, он никогда не будет удовлетворён. Он будет продолжать захватывать и пленять все народы.
Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
Но скоро все эти народы будут смеяться над ним и рассказывать о его поражении. Они скажут: "Горе тому, кто обогатил себя тем, что не принадлежит ему, и захватил много золота. Горе такому человеку!"

Ты отобрал деньги у людей, но они однажды проснутся, и поняв, что происходит, поднимутся против тебя. Они всё у тебя отнимут, и ты станешь их жертвой.
Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?
Ты разграбил много стран, поэтому те, кто остался в них, ограбят тебя — ибо ты пролил много человеческой крови, разорил земли, города и всех живущих в них.
Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
Да, горе человеку, строящему богатство своё на нечестных приобретениях. Этот человек совершает подобное, желая жить в безопасности. Он думает, что сможет остановить других и не дать им себя разорить! (Но несчастья ожидают его. )
Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
Ты замышляешь разорить многие народы, но планы эти устыдят твой собственный дом. Ты совершил зло и поплатишься за это жизнью!
Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.
Каменные стены возопят против тебя, и деревянные перекрытия отзовутся эхом:
For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.
"Горе тому, кто строит город на крови и возводит крепость неправдою!"
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!
Господь Всемогущий определил, что огонь разрушит всё, что построили эти люди. Вся их работа будет напрасной.
Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
Тогда люди по всей земле узнают о Славе Господа. И новость эта разнесётся, как растекается впадающая в море вода.
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Горе будет тому, кто, рассердившись, заставляет других страдать, и валит их на землю. Он относится к этим людям, как к нагим и пьяным!
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!
Но такого человека вместо славы наполнит позор. Настала твоя очередь! Пей и срамись! Чаша из правой руки Господней будет для тебя чашей яда. Ты узнаешь гнев Его, а потом упадёшь на землю, как пьяница.
Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD'S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.
Злодейство, учинённое тобой над Ливаном, и истребление животных ужаснут тебя. Тебя одолеет страх, ибо ты проливал кровь людей, опустошал города и страны, и уничтожал всех, кто там жил.
For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
Такому человеку не поможет его идол, потому что это всего лишь статуя, покрытая металлом. Это лишь статуя. Поэтому человек, который её сделал, не может ожидать от неё помощи. Она даже говорить не умеет!
What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
Горе будет тому, кто говорит деревянной статуе: "Оживи!". Горе будет тому, кто говорит безмолвному камню: "Проснись!". Это изваяние не может ему помочь. Оно покрыто золотом и серебром, но нет в нём жизни.
Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
