"Пересчитайте израильский народ, — сказал Он. — Пересчитайте всех от двадцати лет и старше и перечислите по семействам всех мужчин, которые могут служить в израильской армии".
“Take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all in Israel who are able to go to war.”
В то время народ поставил стан в Моаве, в долине Иордана у Иерихона. И вот Моисей и священник Елеазар, обратившись к народу, сказали:
And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

"Земля будет разделена и отдана этим людям. Каждое колено получит достаточно земли на каждого из пересчитанных.
“Among these the land shall be divided for inheritance according to the number of names.
Большая семья получит больше земли, а маленькая семья получит меньше. Размер земли, которую они получат, будет соответствовать количеству пересчитанного народа,
To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance; every tribe shall be given its inheritance in proportion to its list.
бросайте жребий, чтобы решить, какая семья получит сколько земли. Каждая семья получит свою долю земли, и эта земля получит название по имени той семьи.
But the land shall be divided by lot. According to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
Земля будет дана каждой семье, как большой так и маленькой; разделяйте землю по жребию".
Their inheritance shall be divided according to lot between the larger and the smaller.”
Пересчитали также и род левитов. Поколения в роду Левиевом: от Гирсона — поколение Гирсоново, от Каафа — поколение Каафово, от Мерари — поколение Мерарино.
This was the list of the Levites according to their clans: of Gershon, the clan of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the clan of the Kohathites; of Merari, the clan of the Merarites.
И ещё поколения рода Левиева: поколение Левниево, поколение Хевроново, поколение Махлиево, поколение Мушиево, поколение Кореево. Амрам же был из поколения Каафа.
These are the clans of Levi: the clan of the Libnites, the clan of the Hebronites, the clan of the Mahlites, the clan of the Mushites, the clan of the Korahites. And Kohath was the father of Amram.
Жену Амрама звали Иохаведа, она тоже была из рода Левиева и родилась в Египте. У Амрама с Иохаведой было два сына: Аарон и Моисей, и дочь Мариамь.
The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt. And she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses and Miriam their sister.
Аарон был отцом Авиуда, Надава, Елеазара и Ифамара.
And to Aaron were born Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Надав и Авиуд умерли, ибо совершили приношение Господу на недозволенном огне.
But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord.
Общее число мужчин в роду левитов было 23000, но они не были пересчитаны вместе с израильским народом и не получили доли от земли, которую Господь дал израильскому народу.
And those listed were 23,000, every male from a month old and upward. For they were not listed among the people of Israel, because there was no inheritance given to them among the people of Israel.
Моисей с Елеазаром священником пересчитали весь этот народ. Они пересчитали его, когда были в Иорданской долине в Моаве, у реки Иордан, близ Иерихона.
These were those listed by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who listed the people of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
За много лет до этого Моисей и священник — Аарон пересчитали израильский народ, но все те люди умерли, никого из них не осталось в живых.
But among these there was not one of those listed by Moses and Aaron the priest, who had listed the people of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
