Some devout men buried Stephen, and made loud lamentation over him.

But Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house, and dragging off men and women, he would put them in prison.

Philip in Samaria
Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.
Филипп пришёл в город Самарию и провозглашал учение о Христе.
Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Christ to them.
Услышав Филиппа и увидев чудеса, которые он творил, народ стал единодушно внимать ему.
The crowds with one accord were giving attention to what was said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was performing.
Ибо из многих одержимых выходили с громкими воплями нечистые духи, и множество немощных и хромых было исцелено.
For in the case of many who had unclean spirits, they were coming out of them shouting with a loud voice; and many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
Но был там человек по имени Симон, занимавшийся и прежде волшебством, и поражавший этим самаритян. И выдавал он себя за кого-то великого.
Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great;
Все, от самого малого до самого великого, слушали его, говоря: "В этом человеке — сила Божья, называемая "Великой Силой".
and they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, “This man is what is called the Great Power of God.”
А слушали его потому, что долгое время он изумлял их своим волшебством.
And they were giving him attention because he had for a long time astonished them with his magic arts.
Но когда поверили Филиппу, проповедовавшему благую весть о Царстве Божьем и о величии Иисуса Христа, крестились и мужчины, и женщины.
But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.
Уверовал и сам Симон, крестившись, и был всё время с Филиппом, и, видя совершающиеся великие знамения и чудеса, изумлялся.
Even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.
Услышав, что жители Самарии приняли слово Божье, апостолы, которые всё ещё были в Иерусалиме, послали к ним Петра и Иоанна.
Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,

Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.
Симон же, увидев, что Святой Дух снисходит, когда апостолы возлагают на них руки, предложил им денег, говоря:
Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,
"Дайте и мне эту власть, чтобы на кого бы я ни возложил руки, на того снизошёл Святой Дух".
saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
Пётр сказал ему: "Пусть сгинут твои деньги вместе с тобой самим, ибо подумал ты, что сможешь купить за деньги дар Божий.
But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!
Нет тебе ни части, ни доли в трудах наших, ибо сердце твоё неправедно перед Богом.
“You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.
Так раскайся же в этом зле и моли Господа, может быть, Он простит тебе твои помыслы.
“Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you.
Ведь я вижу, что ты полон горькой зависти и находишься в плену у греха".
“For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.”
Тогда Симон ответил: "Помолитесь Господу за меня, чтобы меня не постигло ничего из сказанного вами".
But Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”
Апостолы же, рассказав людям обо всём, чему были свидетелями, и провозгласив слово Господне, вернулись в Иерусалим; на пути туда они благовествовали во многих самаритянских селениях.
An Ethiopian Receives Christ
So, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.
Ангел Господний сказал Филиппу: "Соберись, и иди на юг, на дорогу, что ведёт из Иерусалима в Газу через пустыню".
But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, “Get up and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza.” (This is a desert road.)
И он собрался, и пошёл. Один эфиоп, евнух, вельможа при дворе Кандакии, царицы Эфиопской, хранитель её казны, побывавший в Иерусалиме на поклонении,
So he got up and went; and there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he had come to Jerusalem to worship,
возвращался по той дороге домой. Он сидел в своей колеснице и читал пророка Исайю.
and he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.
Тогда Дух сказал Филиппу: "Подойди к колеснице и останься там".
Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this chariot.”
Подбежав, Филипп услышал, как евнух читает пророка Исайю. И он спросил его: "Понимаешь ли ты, что читаешь?"
Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
"Как мне понять? — ответил евнух. — Разве что кто-нибудь объяснит мне". И он пригласил Филиппа подняться на колесницу и сесть с ним рядом.
And he said, “Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
Вот какое место из Писания он читал: "Как овцу, на заклание вели Его, и, как ягнёнок перед стригущими его безгласен, так и Он не открывал уст Своих.
Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this:
“HE WAS LED AS A SHEEP TO SLAUGHTER;
AND AS A LAMB BEFORE ITS SHEARER IS SILENT,
SO HE DOES NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH.
“HE WAS LED AS A SHEEP TO SLAUGHTER;
AND AS A LAMB BEFORE ITS SHEARER IS SILENT,
SO HE DOES NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH.
Его унижали и отказывали Ему в правосудии. И никто не сможет рассказать о Его потомках, ибо жизнь Его на земле закончена".
“IN HUMILIATION HIS JUDGMENT WAS TAKEN AWAY;
WHO WILL RELATE HIS GENERATION?
FOR HIS LIFE IS REMOVED FROM THE EARTH.”

И спросил евнух Филиппа: "Прошу тебя, скажи мне, о ком говорит пророк: о себе или о ком-то другом?"
The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?”
Тогда Филипп начал говорить, и, начав с этого Писания, стал благовествовать ему об Иисусе.
Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.
Продолжая свой путь, они приехали к воде, и евнух сказал: "Посмотри, вот вода, что препятствует мне принять крещение?"
As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?”
И Филипп сказал: "Если веруешь ты всей душой своей, то можешь быть крещён". И тот сказал: "Я верую, что Иисус Христос — Сын Божий".
[And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”]
И он приказал остановить колесницу. И оба они, Филипп и евнух, сошли в воду, и Филипп крестил его.
And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.
Когда же они выходили из воды, Дух Господний унёс Филиппа, и евнух больше не видел его, но радостно продолжал свой путь.
When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing.
