As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him;

and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting,
Но встань, и иди в город, там тебе будет сказано, что надлежит тебе делать".
but get up and enter the city, and it will be told you what you must do.”
Люди же, бывшие с ним, от изумления потеряли дар речи: они слышали голос, но никого не видели.
The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.
Савл поднялся с земли, но, открыв глаза, ничего не увидел. Его взяли за руку и повели в Дамаск.
Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing; and leading him by the hand, they brought him into Damascus.
И три дня он ничего не видел, ничего не ел и не пил.
And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
В Дамаске был ученик Иисуса по имени Анания. И в видении Господь сказал ему: "Анания!" Тот ответил: "Вот я, Господи".
Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”
Господь сказал ему: "Поднимись, и пойди на улицу, которая называется Прямой, и в доме Иуды спроси тарсянина по имени Савл, ибо он молится там,
And the Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying,
и было ему видение, что человек по имени Анания вошёл и возложил на него руки, чтобы он мог снова видеть".
and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him, so that he might regain his sight.”
Анания ответил: "Господи, от многих слышал я об этом человеке, обо всём том зле, что причинил он Твоему народу в Иерусалиме.
But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem;
А сюда он пришёл по приказанию первосвященников, чтобы схватить всех, кто верит в Тебя".
and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.”
Но Господь сказал ему: "Ступай, ибо человек этот есть орудие, избранное Мною, дабы он провозгласил имя Моё перед царями, перед сынами Израиля и перед другими народами.
But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;
Я Сам укажу ему, сколько он должен пострадать во имя Моё".
for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.”
И Анания ушёл и явился в тот дом, и, возложив на Савла руки, сказал: "Брат Савл, Господь Иисус, явившийся тебе по дороге сюда, послал меня, чтобы к тебе вернулось зрение и чтобы ты исполнился Святого Духа".
So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
И с глаз его тут же опало нечто, подобное рыбьей чешуе, и зрение вернулось к нему, и он поднялся и принял крещение,
And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized;
а потом поел, и почувствовал, что силы вернулись к нему.
and he took food and was strengthened.

Несколько дней он пробыл в Дамаске с учениками, а потом пошёл прямо по синагогам и стал провозглашать, что Иисус-Сын Божий.
and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”
И все, кто слышал его, в изумлении говорили: "Не тот ли это человек, который пытался уничтожить в Иерусалиме тех, кто поверил в Этого Человека? Разве он пришёл сюда не для того, чтобы схватить их и отвести к первосвященникам?"
All those hearing him continued to be amazed, and were saying, “Is this not he who in Jerusalem destroyed those who called on this name, and who had come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?”
Речи его становились всё убедительнее, и он приводил в замешательсто евреев, живших в Дамаске, доказывая, что Этот Человек и есть Христос.
But Saul kept increasing in strength and confounding the Jews who lived at Damascus by proving that this Jesus is the Christ.
Прошло много дней, и иудеи сговорились убить его.
When many days had elapsed, the Jews plotted together to do away with him,

but their plot became known to Saul. They were also watching the gates day and night so that they might put him to death;

but his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a large basket.

When he came to Jerusalem, he was trying to associate with the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
Тогда Варнава взял его, привёл к апостолам и объяснил им, как явился Савлу Господь, как Он говорил с ним по пути в Дамаск и как смело Савл проповедовал в Дамаске во имя Иисуса.
But Barnabas took hold of him and brought him to the apostles and described to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had talked to him, and how at Damascus he had spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus.
И Савл оставался с ними, часто бывая в Иерусалиме и смело проповедуя во имя Господа.
And he was with them, moving about freely in Jerusalem, speaking out boldly in the name of the Lord.
Он говорил и спорил с теми иудеями, которые говорили по-гречески, но они пытались убить его.
And he was talking and arguing with the Hellenistic Jews; but they were attempting to put him to death.
Братья же его, узнав об этом, отвели его в Кесарию и отослали в Тарс.
But when the brethren learned of it, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus.
И церковь по всей Иудее, Галилее и Самарии обрела мир и укреплялась. И так как они пребывали в страхе Господнем и Дух Святой поощрял их, число их учеников всё время умножалось.
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

Peter’s Ministry
Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.

There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years, for he was paralyzed.
Пётр сказал ему: "Еней, Иисус Христос исцеляет тебя. Поднимись, и убери постель, ибо ты сам можешь теперь сделать это!" И тот тотчас же поднялся.
Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your bed.” Immediately he got up.
И видели его все живущие в Лидде и в Сароне, и обратились к Господу.
And all who lived at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
В Иоппии была последовательница по имени Тавифа, по-гречески Доркада, что значит "серна", и творила добро, и подавала милостыню бедным.
Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did.
В те дни она заболела и умерла. Её обмыли и положили в комнате наверху.
And it happened at that time that she fell sick and died; and when they had washed her body, they laid it in an upper room.
А так как Лидда была недалеко от Иоппии, то ученики, услышав, что Пётр в Лидде, послали к нему двоих, прося: "Приди к нам немедля".
Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him, “Do not delay in coming to us.”
И вот Пётр собрался и пошёл с ними. Когда он пришёл, отвели его в комнату наверху, и все вдовы окружили его. Плача, они показывали ему рубашки и платья, которые сшила Дорка, пока была с ними.
So Peter arose and went with them. When he arrived, they brought him into the upper room; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing all the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to make while she was with them.
Пётр, выслав их из комнаты, упал на колени и стал молиться. Затем, повернувшись к умершей, сказал: "Тавифа, встань". Она открыла глаза и, увидев Петра, села.
But Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed, and turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Подав ей руку, Пётр помог женщине встать. И он созвал всех верующих и вдов и показал им её живой.
And he gave her his hand and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.
И стало это известно по всей Иоппии, и многие поверили в Господа.
It became known all over Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
