War against Remaining Canaanites

And it came to pass after the death of Joshua that the children of Israel asked Jehovah, saying, Which of us shall go up against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

Господь ответил им: "Колено Иуды пойдёт. Я позволю им завоевать эту землю".

And Jehovah said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

Иуда попросил помощи у братьев из семьи Симеона. Он сказал: "Братья мои, Господь обещал дать каждому из нас немного земли. Если вы поможете нам завоевать эту землю, мы поможем вам в войне за вашу землю. " И люди Симеона решили помочь своим братьям из Иудеи.

And Judah said to Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, and let us fight against the Canaanites, and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot; and Simeon went with him.

Господь помог народу Иуды разбить хананеев и ферезеев. Десять тысяч человек было убито в городе Везеке.

And Judah went up; and Jehovah delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand, and they smote them in Bezek, ten thousand men.

Там же они встретились с правителем Везека (Адони-Везек) и сразились с ним.

And they found Adoni-Bezek in Bezek, and fought against him, and they smote the Canaanites and the Perizzites.

Адони-Везек пытался убежать, но они поймали его и отсекли у него на руках и ногах большие пальцы.

And Adoni-Bezek fled, and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.

7

И сказал Адони-Везек: "Я отрезал большие пальцы рук и ног у семидесяти царей, и они ели крохи, которые падали с моего стола. И теперь Господь отплатил мне тем же". Адони-Везека привели в Иерусалим, и там он умер.

And Adoni-Bezek said, Seventy kings, with their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gleaned under my table: as I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

Сыны Иуды воевали против Иерусалима и захватили его. Они убили людей мечами, а город сожгли.

Jerusalem and Hebron Captured

And the children of Judah fought against Jerusalem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.

Потом они пошли воевать с хананеями, которые жили в горах, в пустыне к югу от Иудеи и на западной равнине.

And afterwards the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the hill-country, and in the south, and in the lowland.

Колено Иуды выступило против хананеев, которые жили в Хевроне (раньше Хеврон назывался Кириаф-Арба). Там они убили Шешая, Ахимана и Фалмая.

And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron -- the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-Arba; and they slew Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai.

Additional Cities Captured

And from there he went against the inhabitants of Debir; now the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.

And Caleb said, He that smites Kirjath-sepher and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.

And it came to pass as she came, that she urged him to ask of her father the field; and she sprang down from the ass. And Caleb said to her, What wouldest thou?

Ахса ответила ему: "Благослови меня. Ты дал мне пустынную землю, дай мне и немного воды. " И Халев дал ей, что она просила, — верхние и нижние источники воды.

And she said to him, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a southern land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.

Сыны Кенеянина (тестя Моисея) покинули город Пальм и пошли жить среди иудеев в пустыню, которая находилась на юге от Иудеи, возле города Арада.

And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father-in-law, had gone up out of the city of palm-trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which is in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt with the people.

17

Некоторые хананеи жили в городе Аефафе. Люди Иудеи и Симеона напали на них и полностью разрушили город. И назвали этот город Хорма.

And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it; and they called the name of the city Hormah.

18

Иудеи также захватили город Газу и город Аскалон со всеми маленькими городами вокруг них.

And Judah took Gazah and its border, and Ashkelon and its border, and Ekron and its border.

19

Господь был на стороне Иуды, и люди Иуды захватили горы, но не смогли захватить жителей равнины, ибо у них были железные колесницы.

And Jehovah was with Judah; and he took possession of the hill-country, for he did not dispossess the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

20

Моисей, как и обещал, отдал народу Халева город Хеврон, и они изгнали оттуда трёх сыновей Енаковых.

And they gave to Caleb Hebron, as Moses had said; and he dispossessed from thence the three sons of Anak.

21

Сыны Вениамина не могли изгнать иевусеев, которые жили в Иерусалиме. И до сих пор иевусеи живут в Иерусалиме среди народа Вениамина.

21

And the children of Benjamin did not dispossess the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

22

Потомки Иосифа пошли сражаться против города Вефиль (в прошлом Вефиль назывался Луз), и Господь был на их стороне.

And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel; and Jehovah was with them.

23

Они послали людей разведать всё о Вефиле.

And the house of Joseph sent to search out Bethel; now the name of the city before was Luz.

24

Эти люди увидели человека, идущего из города, и сказали ему: "Покажи нам, как войти в город. Мы захватим его, и, если ты нам поможешь, мы не сделаем тебе ничего плохого".

And the guards saw a man come forth out of the city, and said unto him, Shew us, we pray thee, how [we] may enter into the city, and we will shew thee kindness.

25

И человек этот показал разведчикам потайной вход в город. Потомки Иосифа напали на город Вефиль и мечами убили его жителей. Но они не тронули человека, который помог им. Этот человек с семьёй был отпущен на свободу.

25

And he shewed them how to enter into the city. And they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.

26

Он пошёл в землю, где жили хеттеи, и построил там город, который назвал Луз. Он и до сих пор так называется.

And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called its name Luz, which is its name to this day.

27

Некоторые хананеи жили в городах Бефсан, Фаанах, Дор, Ивлеам и Мегиддон и в маленьких городах, окружающих их. Народ Манассия не смог выгнать людей из этих городов, и хананеи остались там жить.

Places Not Conquered

And Manasseh did not dispossess Beth-shean and its dependent villages, nor Taanach and its dependent villages, nor the inhabitants of Dor and its dependent villages, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and its dependent villages, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and its dependent villages; and the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

Позже, набрав силу, Израиль сделал этих хананеев своими рабами, но изгнать их с земли своей так и не смог.

And it came to pass when Israel became strong, that they made the Canaanites tributary; but they did not utterly dispossess them.

То же самое случилось и с народом Ефрема. Они не смогли изгнать всех хананеев, которые жили в Газере. Так они и остались там жить среди сынов Ефрема.

And Ephraim did not dispossess the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among them in Gezer.

30

И люди Завулона не смогли изгнать хананеев, живших в городах Китрон и Наглол. Те не покинули свою землю и остались жить среди сынов Завулона, которые сделали их своими рабами.

Zebulun did not dispossess the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.

31

Народ Асира не изгнал жителей Акко, Сидона, Ахлава, Ахзива, Хелвы, Цфека и Рехова.

Asher did not dispossess the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor Ahlab, nor Achzib, nor Helbah, nor Aphik, nor Rehob;

32

Народ Асира не смог заставить хананеев покинуть свою землю, и поэтому они жили среди хананеев.

32

and the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; for they did not dispossess them.

33

И люди Неффалима не смогли выгнать жителей Вефсамиса и Бефанафа. Они остались жить среди хананеев и сделали их своими рабами.

33

Naphtali did not dispossess the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth-anath; and he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land, but the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of Beth-anath became tributaries to them.

Аморреи заставили народ Дана жить в горах. Сыновьям Дановым пришлось жить там потому, что аморреи не давали им спуститься в долину.

And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the hill-country, for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley.

35

Аморреи решили остаться жить на горе Херес, в Аиалоне и Шаалвиме, но позже народ Иосифа стал сильным и сделал аморреев своими рабами.

And the Amorites would dwell on mount Heres, in Ajalon and in Shaalbim; but the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, and they became tributaries.

36

Земли аморреев тянулись от возвышенности Акравим до Селы и простирались далее.

And the border of the Amorites was from the ascent of Akrabbim, from the rock, and upwards.
