Da liegt Mesech und Thubal mit allem ihrem Haufen umher begraben, die alle unbeschnitten und mit dem Schwert erschlagen sind, vor denen sich auch die ganze Welt fürchten mußte;

Auch der Herrscher von Meschech und Tubal wartet dort unten, zusammen mit seinen Kriegern. Sie sind mit dem Schwert erstochen worden, und nun liegen diese unbeschnittenen Heiden im Reich der Toten. Einst haben sie die Lebenden in Angst und Schrecken versetzt, doch jetzt ruhen sie rund um das Grab ihres Königs.

Dort ist Meschech-Tubal und all sein Gefolge. Rings um ihn her sind ihre Gräber. Sie alle sind Unbeschnittene, mit dem Schwert Erschlagene; denn sie haben im Land der Lebenden ihren Schrecken verbreitet.
