    Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son

    І от, коли він це задумав, ангел Господній з'явився йому уві сні й мовив: “Йосифе, сину Давида, не бійсь узяти Марію, твою жінку, бо те, що в ній зачалось, походить від Святого Духа.

    But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

    Вона породить сина, і ти даси йому ім'я Ісус, бо він спасе народ свій від гріхів їхніх.”

    She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,f because he will save his people from their sins.”

    А сталося все це, щоб здійснилось Господнє слово, сказане пророком:

    All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

    “Ось, діва матиме в утробі й породить сина, і дадуть йому ім'я Еммануїл, що значить: З нами Бог.”

    “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”g (which means “God with us”).

    Прокинувшись від сну, Йосиф зробив, як звелів йому ангел Господній: прийняв свою жінку;

    When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

    та не спізнав її, аж поки породила сина, і він дав йому ім'я Ісус.

    But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
