Христос нас визволив на те, щоб ми були свобідні. Тож стійте і під кормигу рабства не піддавайтеся знову.

Freedom in Christ

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Ось я, Павло, кажу вам, що коли ви обрізуєтеся, Христос вам ні в чому не допоможе.

Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

Свідчу знову кожному, хто обрізується: Він мусить увесь закон чинити.

For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Ви, що шукаєте в законі оправдання, від Христа відлучилися, від благодаті ви відпали.

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Ми бо духом з віри очікуємо надії оправдання,

For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

бо у Христі Ісусі нічого не означають ні обрізання, ні необрізання, але — віра, чинна любов'ю.

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Ви бігли добре. Хто ж то вам став на перешкоді, що ви правді не повинуєтеся?

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

Це переконання не від того, хто вас кличе.

This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.

Трохи закваски квасить усе тісто.

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

Я певний в Господі, що ви не матимете інших думок; а хто заколочує вас, буде засуджений, хто б він не був.

I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

Я ж, брати, коли ще проповідую обрізання, то чого мене ще гонять? Отже, кінець отій соблазні, що від хреста!

And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Коли б то вже зовсім покалічили себе ті, що заколот у вас зчиняють!

I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Ви бо, брати, покликані до свободи; аби тільки свобода ваша не стала приводом до тілесности; але любов'ю служіть один одному.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Увесь бо закон міститься у цій одній заповіді: “Люби ближнього твого, як себе самого.”

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Коли ж ви між собою гризетеся та їсте один одного, вважайте, щоб один одного не знищили!

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Знову кажу: Духом ходіте, і тіла пожадливостей не будете чинити;

Living by the Spirit

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

бо тіло пожадає проти духа, і дух пожадає проти тіла. Вони суперечать одне одному, так що ви не можете робити того, що хотіли б.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

А коли дух вас водить, то ви не під законом.

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Учинки ж тіла явні: розпуста, нечистота, розгнузданість,

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

ідолослужба, чари, ворогування, свари, заздрість, гнів, суперечки, незгоди, єресі,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

зависті, пияцтво, гульня і таке інше, про що я вас попереджаю, — як я вже й раніше казав, що ті, що таке чинять, царства Божого не успадкують.

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

А плід Духа: любов, радість, мир, довготерпіння, лагідність, доброта, вірність,

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

тихість, здержливість. На тих то нема закону.

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ті ж, що є Ісус-Христові, розп'яли тіло з його пристрастями та пожадливостями.

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

І коли ми живемо духом, то духом і ходімо.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Не будьмо марнославні, задерикуваті між собою, завидущі одні одним.

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
