Питає тодї Орна: Чого йде добродїй й царь мій до раба свого? І відказав Давид: Щоб купити в тебе гумно, й спорудити жертівника Господеві, й так одвернути пошесть від люду.

І спитав Орна: “Для чого цар, мій пан, прийшов до свого слуги?” А Давид відповів: “Купити в тебе тік для побудови жертовника Господеві, щоб відійшла від народу пошесть.”

І сказав Аравна: „Чого прийшов пан мій, цар, до свого раба?“ А Давид відказав: „Купити від тебе цього то́ка, щоб збудувати же́ртівника для Господа, — і буде стримана зараза від наро́ду“.

І сказав Орна: Як це, що мій володар-цар, прийшов до свого раба? Я прийшов купити в тебе тік, аби збудувати жертовник Господу, — сказав Давид, — щоби спинилася смертність народу!

И сказал Орна: зачем пришёл господин мой, царь, к рабу своему? И сказал Давид: купить у тебя гумно для устроения жертвенника Господу, чтобы прекратилось поражение народа.

And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.

“To buy your threshing floor,” David answered, “so I can build an altar to the Lord, that the plague on the people may be stopped.” -
