У вісїмнайцятому роцї царювання Еробоамового Набатенкового почав царювати над Юдеями Абія.
Abijam's Wicked Reign in Judah
And in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat began Abijam to reign over Judah.
And in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat began Abijam to reign over Judah.
А царював він у Ерусалимі три годи; матїр же його звалась Мааха Абессаломівна.
He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Maachah, a daughter of Abishalom.
Він ходив у всїх гріхах батька свого, які той витворяв перед ним, і серце його не було віддане Господеві, Богові його, як серце предка його, Давидове.
And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father.
Та тільки задля Давида й зробив його Господь, Бог його, сьвіточем у Ерусалимі, поставивши по йому сина його та утвердивши Ерусалим;
But for David's sake Jehovah his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, setting up his son after him, and establishing Jerusalem;
Давид бо чинив те, що було Господеві до вподоби, й нїчого не занедбовував, що він заповідав йому, поки й віку його, опріч поступку з Гетїєм Урією.
because David did that which was right in the sight of Jehovah, and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Urijah the Hittite.
(Була ж війна між Робоамом і Еробоамом, поки й віку їх.)
And there had been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
Про инші дїла Абії, й про те, що він витворяв, се прописано в лїтописній книзї царів Юдиних. Була ж війна між Абією й Еробоамом.
And the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
І прилучивсь Абія до батьків своїх, і поховано його у Давидовому городї; а син його Аса став царем намість його.
And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa his son reigned in his stead.
У двайцятому годї царювання Еробоамового над Ізраїлем почав царювати Аса над Юдеями.
Asa's Good Reign in Judah
And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah;

Він же царював у Ерусалимі сорок і один рік, а матїр його звалась Ана Абессаломівна.
and he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Maachah, daughter of Abishalom.
І чинив Аса те, що було Господеві до вподоби, як предок його Давид.
And Asa did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, as David his father.
Він повиганяв розпустників із землї й повідкидав усї ідоли, що поробили предки його.
And he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his father had made.
Навіть матїр свою Ану відставив від шани царської, за те що вона зробила ідол Астарти; й порубав Аса її боввана та й спалив його коло Кидрон-потока.
And also Maachah his mother he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol for the Asherah; and Asa cut down her idol, and burned it in the valley of Kidron.
Лиш високостї не знївечено. Та серце Асине було віддане Господеві поки й віку його.
But the high places were not removed; only, Asa's heart was perfect with Jehovah all his days.
І внїс він в храм Господень срібло, золото й посуд, що присьвятив отець його, й свої власні присьвяти.
And he brought into the house of Jehovah the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which he himself had dedicated, silver and gold and vessels.
Та була війна між Асою й Баасою, царем Ізраїлським, поки й віку їх.
War between Asa and Baasha
And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

І двинув Бааса, царь Ізраїлський, проти Юдеї та й утвердив Раму, щоб нїхто не виходив нї входив до Аси, царя Юдейського.
And Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, in order to let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
І взяв Аса все срібло й золото, що було ще в скарбівнї в храму Господньому й скарби в царській палатї, та й оддав їх у руки слугам своїм, і послав їх царь Аса до Бенадада, сина Табримонового, сина Гезієвого, царя Сирийського, що жив у Дамаску, й повелїв сказати йому:
And Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the king's house, and gave them into the hand of his servants; and king Asa sent them to Ben-Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt at Damascus, saying,
Нехай стане вмова між мною й тобою, як була між моїм отцем і твоїм отцем. Ось я посилаю тобі гостинця сріблом і золотом. Зорви злуку з Баасою, царем Ізрайлевим, щоб він одступивсь од мене.
There is a league between me and thee, [as] between my father and thy father; behold, I send thee a present of silver and gold: go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
І послухав Бенадад Аси та й послав військове отаманнє своє проти городів Ізраїлських, і звоював Анн і Дан і Абел-Бет-Мааху й увесь Киннерот, — всю землю Нефталїєву.
And Ben-Hadad hearkened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his forces against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Kinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
Як довідався про се Бааса, перестав утверджувати Раму, та й вернувсь у Тирзу.
And it came to pass when Baasha heard of it, that he left off building Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
Царь же Аса зібрав усю Юдею, нїкого не виймаючи, і повиносили вони з Рами каміннє й дерево, що Бааса вживав до утверджування, й повелїв царь Аса укріпити тим Гиву Беняминову та Масфу.
And king Asa called together all Judah: none was exempted; and they carried away the stones and the timber from Ramah, with which Baasha had been building; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
Инше про Асу й всї його хоробрі дїї, й про все, що він учинив, і про городи, що повтверджував, те прописано в лїтописній книзї царів Юдиних. Та в старощах своїх кволивсь він на ноги.
Jehoshaphat Succeeds Asa
And the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Only, in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

І спочив Аса з отцями своїми, й поховали його коло батьків його в предківськоми Давидовому городї.
And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father. And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
Набат же Еробоаменко став царем над Ізраїлем у другому роцї царювання Асиного, царя Юдиного, а царював два роки над Ізраїлем.
Nadab's Wicked Reign in Israel
And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.
І чинив таке, що Господеві не до вподоби, й ходив по дорозї батька свого й в гріхах його, що той псував ними Ізраїля.
And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel sin.
Та Бааса Ахієнко з дому Іссахарового, підняв против його змову, й вбив його Бааса в Геббетонї Филистійському, коли Набат і всї Ізрайлитяне облягали Геббетон.
And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines, when Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.
От і вбив його Бааса в третий рік царювання Асиного, царя Юдиного, та й зробився царем намість його.
And Baasha slew him in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
Скоро ж він зробився царем, зараз вибив увесь дом Еробоамів, не зоставив нї душі з його насїння, аж покіль усе повигублював, по слову Господньому, що Господь висказав через слугу свого Ахію з Силому,
And it came to pass when he was king, he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left to Jeroboam none that breathed; until he had destroyed him, according to the word of Jehovah which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite,
Задля гріхів Еробоамових, що він самий чинив і ними доводив до гріха Ізраїля, та за зневагу, якою прогнївив Господа, Бога Ізрайлевого.
because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and wherewith he made Israel to sin; by his provocation with which he provoked Jehovah the God of Israel to anger.
Що до инших дїй Набатових і про все, що він творив, прописано в лїтописній книзї царів Ізраїлських.

Була ж війна між Асою й Баасою, царем Ізрайлевим, поки віку їх.

У третьому роцї Аси, царя Юдиного, став Бааса Ахієнко царем над усїм Ізраїлем і царював у Тирсї двайцять і чотири годи.
