Йому байдуже, як ріка бушує,
він не боїться навіть, коли Йордан по рот сягає. -
Ось підійма́ється рі́чка, та він не боїться її, він безпечний, хоча б сам Йорда́н йому в па́щу впливав!

Якщо буде повінь, він не відчує, він вірить, що Йордан потече йому в уста.

сделает ли он договор с тобою, и возьмёшь ли его навсегда себе в рабы?

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
