Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Піднімаються царі землї, і князї радять раду проти Господа й проти Помазанця його:
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Розорвім пута і скиньмо з себе посторонки їх!
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Господь, що сидить на небесах, сьміється, і ругається над ними.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Тодї промовить до них у гнїві своїм і яростю своєю перелякає їх.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Се ж я помазав царя мого над Сионом, сьвятою горою моєю,
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Ізвіщу проповідь, що сказав Господь до мене: Ти син мій, нинї зродив я тебе.
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Проси в мене, й дам тобі народи в наслїддє, а кінцї сьвіта у владїннє.
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Жезлом зелїзним розібєш їх, як череповину потрощиш їх.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
Зрозумійте ж се, царі, й одумайтесь, усї суддї землї.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Служіть Господеві зо страхом, і радуйтеся з дрожаннєм.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Прославляйте Сина, щоб не прогнївився, а вам щоб не погибнути на дорозї вашій, бо скоро загориться гнїв його. Блаженні всї, що надїються на його.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
