The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright; but the mouth of the foolish poureth out folly.
Господнї очі скрізь по сьвіту позирають, і доброго й лихого вони вбачають.
The eyes of Jehovah are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Лагідний язик — се дерево жизнї, а необузданий — пригноблює духа.
Gentleness of tongue is a tree of life; but crookedness therein is a breaking of the spirit.
Дурний нехтує отецьку науку, хто ж вважає на докір, — добрий розум має.
A fool despiseth his father's instruction; but he that regardeth reproof becometh prudent.

In the house of a righteous [man] is much treasure; but in the revenue of a wicked [man] is disturbance.
Уста мудрих ширять знаннє, та не так серце безумних.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Противна Господу безбожного дорога; хто ж ходить дорогою правди — сей йому любий.
The way of a wicked [man] is an abomination to Jehovah; but him that pursueth righteousness he loveth.
Страшенна кара тим, хто праву путь покине; й хто ненавидить докір, — погибне.
Grievous correction is for him that forsaketh the path; he that hateth reproof shall die.
І преисподня й ад явні Господеві, а надто — серця синів людських.
Sheol and destruction are before Jehovah; how much more then the hearts of the children of men!
Не любить ледарь тих, хто його картає, та до мудрих він також не пійде.
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him; he will not go unto the wise.
Веселе серце чинить і лице веселим, а як туга в серцї, то і душа ниє.
A joyful heart maketh a cheerful countenance; but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.
Розумне серце шукає знання, уста ж безумних дурницями живуть.
The heart of an intelligent [man] seeketh knowledge; but the mouth of the foolish feedeth on folly.
В нещасного всї днї сумнії, у кого ж серце веселе, тому що дня гостина.
All the days of the afflicted are evil; but a cheerful heart is a continual feast.
У страсї Божому й мале далеко лучше, анїж скарби великі в тревозї.
Better is little with the fear of Jehovah than great store and disquietude therewith.
Смачнїйша мисочка капусти, да з любови, анїж з приправою ненавистї теля товсте.
Better is a meal of herbs where love is, than a fatted ox and hatred therewith.
Палкий чоловік доводить до сварки, а лагідний втихомиряє незгоду.
A furious man stirreth up contention; but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Лїнивого дорога — мов тернєм встелена, дорога же праведних — гладка.
The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns; but the path of the upright is made plain.
Розумний син отця свого возвеселяє, дурний же чоловік і матїрю помітає.
A wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Дурницї — радощі безумному, а чоловік розумний ступає правою дорогою.
Folly is joy to him that is void of sense; but a man of understanding regulateth his walk.
Без поради розпочате дїло розбиваєсь, як же порадників доволї, воно остоїться.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed; but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Радість чоловікові — (розумний) відказ із уст його; слово в час сказане — яке воно любе!
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; and a word in its season, how good is it!
Путь життя мудрого веде вгору, щоб відбитись йому від пропастї в низу.
The path of life is upwards for the wise, that he may depart from Sheol beneath.
Дім надутих розвалить Господь, а межу вдовину утвердить.
Jehovah plucketh up the house of the proud; but he establisheth the boundary of the widow.
Гидота Господу задуми ледачих, слова же невинних любі йому.
The thoughts of the evil [man] are an abomination to Jehovah; but pure words are pleasant.
Зруйнує дом свій, хто любить підкупство, а жити ме, хто ненавидить гостинцї.
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Обдумує відказ праведного серце, уста же безбожників вимітують зло.
The heart of a righteous [man] studieth to answer; but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Далекий Господь од безбожних, молитву ж праведних він слухає.
Jehovah is far from the wicked; but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Ясний погляд веселить серце; приятна новина тучить навіть костї.
That which enlighteneth the eyes rejoiceth the heart; good tidings make the bones fat.
Ухо, уважне до науки жизнї, пробуває між мудрими.
The ear that heareth the reproof of life shall abide among the wise.
Хто відкидає упомин, — не дбає про свою душу; хто ж уважний на докір, — набуває розуму.
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul; but he that heareth reproof getteth sense.
