The Blessings of Obedience
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to take heed to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee supreme above all nations of the earth;
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to take heed to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee supreme above all nations of the earth;
І зійдуть на тебе всї 'цї благословення і сповняться на тобі, коли слухати меш голосу Господа, Бога твого:
and all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God.
Благословен будеш в містї і благословен на полї;
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Благословен буде плід нїдра твого, і плід землї твоєї і плід скотини твоєї, плід коров твоїх і плід овець твоїх.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the offspring of thy kine, and the increase of thy sheep.
Благословен будеш входючи, і благословен виходючи.
Blessed shalt thou be in thy coming in, and blessed shalt thou be in thy going out.
Допустить Господь, що вороги твої, що проти тебе встали, будуть поражені перед тобою; по одній дорозї вийдуть проти тебе, а сїма дорогами втїкати муть перед тобою.
Jehovah will give up, smitten before thee, thine enemies that rise up against thee; they shall come out against thee one way, and by seven ways shall they flee before thee.
Господь буде благословити твої комори і всяке дїло рук твоїх, і благословити ме тебе в землї, що дає тобі Господь, Бог твій.
Jehovah will command blessing on thee in thy granaries, and in all the business of thy hand; and he will bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
Поставить Господь тебе сьвятим народом про себе, як клявся тобі, коли сповняти меш заповідї Господа, Бога твого, і ходити меш дорогами його;
Jehovah will establish thee unto himself a holy people as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, and walk in his ways.
І побачять всї народи землї, що тебе названо іменем Господнїм, і бояти муться тебе.
And all peoples of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of thee.
І дасть Господь тобі достаток плоду нїдра твого і плоду скотини твоєї і плоду поля твого, добробит у землї, що клявся Господь батькам твоїм дати тобі.
And Jehovah will give thee abundance of good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land that Jehovah swore unto thy fathers to give thee.
Господь відчинить для тебе благодатну скарбницю свою, небо, щоб дати тобі своєї пори дощ і щоб благословити всяке дїло руки твоєї; і пожичати меш многим народам, сам же не пожичати меш.
Jehovah will open to thee his good treasure, the heavens, to give rain unto thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand; and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow.
І вчинить Господь тебе головою, не хвостом, і будеш все йти вгору, нїколи вниз, коли будеш слухати заповідей Господа, Бога твого, що заповідаю тобі сьогоднї, щоб додержував і сповняв їх,
And Jehovah will make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah thy God, which I command thee this day, to keep and to do them,
І не відхилявся від усїх слів, що заповідаю вам сьогоднї, нї праворуч, нї лїворуч, щоб ходити за иншими богами і служити їм.
and if thou turn not aside from any of the words that I command thee this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Коли ж не слухати меш голосу Господа, Бога твого, і не старати мешся сповняти всї заповідї його і встанови, що заповідаю тобі сьогоднї, так прийдуть на тебе всї 'цї прокляття і справдяться над тобою:
The Curses of Disobedience
But it shall come to pass if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to take heed to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day, that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee.

Проклят будеш в містї, і проклят будеш на полї.
Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Проклят буде плід нїдра твого і плід поля твого, плід коров твоїх і плід овець твоїх.
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, the offspring of thy kine, and the increase of thy sheep.
Проклят будеш при входї і проклят будеш при виходї.
Cursed shalt thou be in thy coming in, and cursed shalt thou be in thy going out.
Господь посилати ме на тебе прокляттє, смуток і закляття на все, що робиш рукою твоєю, що нї чинити меш, докіль не погибнеш і не щезнеш нагле за ледарство вчинків твоїх, за те, що покинув мене.
Jehovah will send upon thee cursing, confusion, and rebuke, in all the business of thy hand which thou doest, until thou be destroyed and until thou perish quickly, because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
Побивати ме тебе Господь чумою, докіль ти не щезнеш із землї, куди прийшов, щоб заняти її.
Jehovah will make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
Побивати ме тебе Господь сухотою і трясцею, і спекою і пожарами, і посухою і снїтїйом і споловілим колосом; і все те буде непокоїти тебе, поки не згинеш.
Jehovah will smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with burning ague, and with drought, and with blight, and with mildew, and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
І стане міддю твоє небо, що над головою твоєю, і зелїзом земля, що під тобою.
And thy heavens which are over thy head shall be brass, and the earth which is under thee, iron.
Заміст дощу сипати ме Господь на землю твою порохами та піском: з неба падати ме се на тебе, поки не згинеш.
Jehovah will give as the rain of thy land powder and dust; from the heavens shall it come down upon thee until thou be destroyed.
Оддавати ме тебе Господь на забій перед ворогами твоїми; по одній дорозї виходити меш проти них, а сїма шляхами втїкати меш від них, і будуть гонити тебе по всїх царствах землї.
Jehovah will give thee up smitten before thine enemies; thou shalt go out against them one way, and by seven ways shalt thou flee before them; and thou shalt be driven hither and thither into all the kingdoms of the earth.
І буде твій труп поживою усякому птаству піднебесному і зьвірам земним, і нїхто не буде відганяти їх.
And thy carcase shall be meat unto all the fowl of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no man to scare them away.
Побивати ме тебе Господь Египецькими болячками, і вередами і коростою і струпом, що не здолїєш вилїчитись від них.
Jehovah will smite thee with the ulcers of Egypt, and with boils, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
Побивати ме тебе Господь шаленнєм і слїпотою і одеревіннєм серця;
Jehovah will smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart;
І ходити меш в полудне помацьки кругом, як слїпий мацяє в темряві, і нїщо не вдасться тобі в дорозї твоїй; всякого дня будуть тілько неволити тебе і обдирати, і нїхто не рятувати ме тебе.
and thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways; and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled continually, and there shall be none to save.
Засватаєш жінку, а лежати ме з нею инший; збудуєш домівку, та й не жити меш в нїй; насадиш виноградник, та й не покористуєшся ним.
Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her; thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwell therein; thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not eat of it.
Бичка твого вбють перед очима твоїми, і не їсти меш з його; осла твого заберуть перед тобою, і не вернеться тобі; дрібну скотину твою пооддають ворогам твоїм, а в тебе нїкому буде рятувати її.
Thine ox shall be slaughtered before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof; thine ass shall be snatched away from before thy face, and shall not return to thee; thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to recover them.
Синів твоїх і дочок пооддають иншому народові, і бачити муть очі твої і плакати муть по них всякого дня, а в руцї в тебе сили не буде.
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and languish for them all the day long; and there shall be no power in thy hand [to help it].
Вроджай із поля твого і всю працю твою їсти ме нарід, що не знаєш його; а з тебе будуть повсячасно тілько знущатись і мучити тебе.
The fruit of thy ground and all thy labour, shall a people that thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed continually.
І скрутишся ти од видовища, що побачять очі твої.
And thou shalt be mad through the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
Побє тебе Господь лихими боляками на колїнах і по голенях, від підошви та й до тїмя твого, що не здолїєш вигоїтись.
Jehovah will smite thee in the knees and in the legs with evil ulcers, whereof thou canst not be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
Поведе тебе Господь і царя твого, що поставиш його над собою, до народу, якого не знав єси, нї ти нї батьки твої; і служити меш там иншим богам, з дерева і каменя.
Jehovah will bring thee, and thy king whom thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation that neither thou nor thy fathers have known, and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
І зробишся чудовищем, поговоркою, і посьміховиском у всїх народів, що до них приведе тебе Господь.
And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all the peoples whither Jehovah shall lead thee.
Багацько насїння нести меш на поле, а мало збирати меш; бо пожере його сарана.
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather little in; for the locust shall devour it.
Понасаджуєш виноградники і пообробляєш; а вина не пити меш і не збирати меш грон: бо червяк поїсть їх.
Thou shalt plant and till vineyards, but shalt drink no wine, nor gather [the fruit]; for the worms shall eat it.
Маслинне дерево буде в тебе по всїх займищах твоїх; та не помастишся олїєю: бо маслини твої поопадають.
Olive-trees shalt thou have throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with oil; for thine olive-tree shall cast its fruit.
Сини й дочки вродяться тобі; та вони твоїми не будуть, бо заберуть їх у полонь.
Sons and daughters shalt thou beget, but thou shalt not have them [to be with thee]; for they shall go into captivity.
Усї дерева твої й плоди землї твоєї хрущ поз'їдає.
All thy trees and the fruit of thy ground shall the locust possess.
Приходень, що серед вас, підніметься висше і висше над тобою, а ти падати меш низше і низше.
The sojourner that is in thy midst shall rise above thee higher and higher, and thou shalt sink down lower and lower.
Він тобі пожичати ме, ти ж не будеш йому пожичати; він буде головою, а ти будеш хвостом.
He shall lend to thee, but thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
І спадуть на тебе всї 'цї прокляття і гонити муть за тобою і постигнуть тебе, поки не погибнеш; бо не послухав єси голосу Господа, Бога твого, і не додержав ти заповідї і встанови його, що він заповідав їх тобі.
And all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, until thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee.
І будуть сї прокляття на тобі ознакою й дивом і на твому насїнню по віки.
And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
За те, що ти не служив Господеві, Богу твому, радїючи серцем у всїх достатках,
Because thou servedst not Jehovah thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything,
Служити меш ворогам твоїм, що пішле їх на тебе Господь, в голодї й холодї терплючи смагу і недостаток у всьому. І положить він зелїзне ярмо на шию тобі, поки не знївечить тебе.
thou shalt serve thine enemies whom Jehovah will send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of everything; and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
Господь наведе на тебе нарід здалека, з кіньця землї; як орел злетить на тебе народ, якого мови ти не розумієш;
Jehovah will bring a nation against thee from afar, from the end of the earth, like as the eagle flieth, a nation whose tongue thou understandest not;
Народ безмилосердний, такий, що не вважати ме на старих людей і над дїтворою не змилосердується;
a nation of fierce countenance, which regardeth not the person of the old, nor is kind to the young;
Що пожирати ме плід скотини твоєї і вроджай землї твоєї, поки не знищить тебе; що не оставить тобі нї зерна, нї вина, нї олїї, нї плоду дрібної скотини, поки знищить тебе.
and he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, until thou be destroyed; for he shall not leave thee corn, new wine, or oil, offspring of thy kine, or increase of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
І пооблягає він у тебе всї брами твої, поки не зруйнує по всїй землї твоїй високі і укріплені мури, на котрих ти вповав; і пооблягає він у тебе всї оселї по всїй землї твоїй, що надїлив тобі Господь, Бог твій.
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and strong walls wherein thou trustedst come down, throughout all thy land; and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates in all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee.
А ти їсти меш плід нїдра твого, тїло синів твоїх і дочок твоїх, що дав тобі Господь, Бог твій, в час облоги і в тїснотї, як тїснити муть тебе вороги твої.
And in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee, thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters whom Jehovah thy God hath given thee.
Чоловік самий рознїжений і мяхкого серця між вами, дивити меться завидним оком на брата свого, і на жінку серця свого і на других дїтей, що живими оставив,
The eye of the man in thy midst that is tender and very luxurious shall be evil towards his brother, and the wife of his bosom, and the residue of his children which he hath left;
Щоб не подїлитись нї з ким тїлом дїтей своїх, що їх їсти ме; бо нїщо не зосталось йому під час облоги і тїсноти, як тїснити ме тебе ворог твій по всїх оселях твоїх.
so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children that he eateth, because he hath nothing left him in the siege and in the straitness wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
Сама рознїжена і розпещена жінка, що з нїжностї і роскоші не важилась ступити босою ногою на землю, вона дивити меться завидним оком на чоловіка серця свого і на синів своїх і на дочок своїх
The eye of the tender and luxurious woman in thy midst who would not attempt to set the sole of her foot upon the ground from luxuriousness and from tenderness, shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and her son, and her daughter,
Задля плодового місця, що виходить з неї зпроміж ніг, і задля дїтей, що родить їх; бо вона з'їсть їх тайкома задля недостатку всього під час облоги і тїсноти, як тїснити ме тебе ворог твій по оселях твоїх.
because of her afterbirth which hath come out between her feet, and her children whom she shall bear; for she shall secretly eat them for want of everything in the siege and in the straitness wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
Коли не будеш додержувати і сповняти всї слова закону сього, що списано в цїй книзї, щоб ти боявся сього славного і страшного іменї Господа, Бога твого,
If thou wilt not take heed to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, to fear this glorious and fearful name, JEHOVAH THY GOD;
Так Господь допустить на тебе і на насїннє твоє надзвичайні кари; великі і довгі муки і злі та й довгі немочі.
then Jehovah will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, great and persistent plagues and evil and persistent sicknesses;
І знов наведе на тебе всї Египецькі пошестї, що їх лякаєшся; і причіпляться вони до тебе.
and he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt which thou art afraid of, and they shall cleave unto thee.
Крім того всяку недугу і всяку біду, що не прописано їх в книзї закону сього, стане наводити Господь на тебе, аж покіль не занапастить тебе.
Also every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this law, them will Jehovah bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
І зостанетесь ви малолюдними, а були ви лїчбою такі, як зорі небесні; бо ти не послухав голосу Господа Бога твого.
And ye shall be left a small company, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God.
І як радїв вами Господь, коли благословив вас добром і намножував вас, так радїти ме вами, Господь, коли стане вигублювати вас і нищити вас; і відірве він вас од землї, що до неї привів тебе, щоб ти заняв її.
And it shall come to pass, that as Jehovah rejoiced over you to do you good and to multiply you, so Jehovah will rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whereunto thou goest to possess it.
І розсїє тебе Господь проміж усїма народами від кіньця до кіньця землї, і служити меш там иншим богам, із дерева і з каменя, що їх ти не знав, нї батьки твої.
And Jehovah will scatter thee among all peoples, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; and thou shalt there serve other gods, whom thou hast not known, neither thou nor thy fathers, wood and stone.
І між сими народами не мати меш впокою, і стопа твоя не знайде супокійного місця; і нашле Господь страх на серце твоє, і танути муть очі твої і душа нити ме.
And among these nations shalt thou have no rest, neither shall the sole of thy foot have a resting-place, and Jehovah shall give thee there a trembling heart, languishing of the eyes, and pining of the soul.
І життє твоє хитати меться перед тобою, і лякати мешся в ночі і в день, і не будеш певний життя свого.
And thy life shall hang in suspense before thee; and thou shalt be in terror day and night and shalt be afraid of thy life.
Вранцї казати меш: Коли б вже той вечір був! А ввечорі казати меш: Коли б вже той ранок прийшов — від страху в серцї твому, що буде тебе лякати, і від привиддя в очах твоїх, що бачити меш.
In the morning thou shalt say, Would that it were even! and in the evening thou shalt say, Would that it were morning! through the fright of thy heart wherewith thou shalt be in terror, and through the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
І приведе тебе Господь ізнов в Египет по тій дорозї, про яку мовляв я тобі, щоб ти більш не бачив її! І продавати муть вас там як рабів і рабинь ворогам вашим, та нїхто й не куповати ме вас.
And Jehovah will bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I said unto thee, Thou shalt see it again no more; and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and there shall be no man to buy [you].
