У волї ж оце, котрою Христос визволив нас, стійте, і під ярмо неволї знов не піддавайтесь.

Christ Has Set Us Free

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Ось я Павел глаголю вам, що коли ви обрізуєтесь, Христос вам нїчого не поможе.

Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.

Сьвідкую ж знов кожному чоловіку обрізаному, що винен увесь закон чинити.

I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.

Обернулись ви в нїщо (одійшовши) від Христа; (ви,) що оправдуєтесь законом, од благодати відпали.

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justifieda by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

Ми бо духом од віри надїї праведности ждемо.

For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.

Бо в Христї Ісусї нї обрізаннє нїчого не може, нї необрізаннє, а віра, любовю сильна.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

Ви бігли добре. Хто заборонив вам коритись правдї?

You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?

Сей перекір не від того (приходить), хто покликав вас.

This persuasion is not from him who calls you.

Трошки квасу все місиво квасить.

A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Покладаюсь на вас у Господї, що не думати мете нїчого иншого, а хто колотить вами, понесе свій осуд, хто б він нї був.

I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view, and the one who is troubling you will bear the penalty, whoever he is.

Я ж, браттє, коли ще проповідую обрізаннє, то чого ще гонять мене? Тодї обернеть ся в нїщо поблазнь хреста.

But if I, brothers,b still preachc circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.

Ой коли б відсїчено тих, що колотять вами!

I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!

Ви бо, браттє, покликані на волю; тільки щоб воля ваша не була причиною (до гріха) тїлу; а любовю служіть один одному.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Увесь бо закон в одному слові сповняєть ся: Люби ближнього твого, як себе самого.

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Коли ж ви гризете й заїдаєте один одного, то гледїть, щоб не були пожерті один від одного.

But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

Глаголю ж: Духом ходїть, і хотїння тїлесного не звершуйте.

Keep in Step with the Spirit

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Бо тїло бажає (того що) проти духа, а дух, (що) проти тїла; се ж одно другому противить ся, щоб не, що хочете, те робили.

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

Коли ж водитесь духом, то ви не під законом.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Явні ж дїла тїлесні; оце вони: перелюб, блуд, нечистота, розпуст,

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,

ідолослуженнє, чаруваннє, ворогуваннє, свари, ненависть, гнїв, суперечки, незгода, єресї,

idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,

зависть, убийство, пянство, бенкети й таке инше. Се наперед глаголю вам, яко ж і наперед глаголав, що хто таке робить, ті царства Божого не наслїдять.

envy,d drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who doe such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

А овощ духа: любов, радощі, мир, довготерпіннє, добрість, милосердє, віра,

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

тихість, вдержливість. На таких нема закону.

gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

А которі Христові, ті розпяли тїло з страстьми і хотїннєм.

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Коли духом живемо, духом і ходїмо.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Не буваймо марнославні, один одного роздражнюючи і один одному завидуючи.

Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
