Народ же не хотів слухати Самуїла й мовив: «Ні, хай буде цар над нами!

Та наро́д відмо́вився слухати Самуїлового голосу, та й сказав: „Ні, — нехай тільки цар буде над нами!

Однак народ не бажав послухатися Самуїла, і вони сказали йому: Ні, але нехай над нами буде цар!

Но народ не согласился послушаться голоса Самуила, и сказал: нет, пусть царь будет над нами,

God Grants the Request
Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; -
