    Оце нащадки синів Ноєвих: Сима, Хама та Яфета. А їм народились сини по потопі:

    Nations Descended from Noah

    Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.

    Сини Яфетові: Ґомер, і Маґоґ, і Мадай, і Яван, і Тувал, і Мешех, і Тирас.

    The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

    А сини Ґомерові: Ашкеназ, і Рифат, і Тоґарма.
  • 3
    The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, [a]Riphath, and Togarmah.
  • 4
    А сини Явана: Еліша, і Таршіш, і китти, і додани.
  • 4
    The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and [b]Dodanim.
  • 5
    Від них відділилися острови́ народів у їхніх краях, кожний за мовою своєю, за своїми родами, у наро́дах своїх.

    From these the coastland peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.

    А сини Хамові: Куш, і Міцраїм, і Фут, і Ханаан.

    The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, [c]Put, and Canaan.
  • 7
    А сини Кушові: Сева, і Хавіла, і Савта, і Раама, і Савтеха. А сини Раами: Шева та Дедан.

    The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

    Куш же породив Німрода, — він розпочав на землі ве́летнів.

    Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.
  • 9
    Він був дужий мисли́вець перед Господнім лицем. Тому то говориться: „Як Німрод, дужий мисливець перед Господнім лицем“.

    He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.”
  • 10
    А початком царства його були: Вавилон, і Ерех, і Аккад, і Калне в землі Шінеар.
  • 10
    And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
  • 11
    З того краю вийшов Ашшур, та й збудував Ніневію, і Реховот-Ір, і Калах,
  • 11
    From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,
  • 12
    і Ресен поміж Ніневією та поміж Калахом, — він оте місто велике.

    and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).

    А Міцра́їм породив лудів, і анамів, і легавів, і нафтухів,

    Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
  • 14
    і патрусів, і каслухів, що звідси пішли филистимляни, і кафторів.

    Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines and Caphtorim).

    А Ханаан породив Сидона, свого перворідного, та Хета,
  • 15
    Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and Heth;
  • 16
    і Евусеянина, і Амореянина, і Ґірґашеянина,
  • 16
    the Jebusite, the Amorite, and the Girgashite;
  • 17
    і Хіввеянина, і Аркеянина, і Синеянина,
  • 17
    the Hivite, the Arkite, and the Sinite;
  • 18
    і Арвадеянина, і Цемареянина, і Хаматеянина. А потім розпорошилися роди Ханаанеянина.

    the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were dispersed.

    І була границя Ханаанеянина від Сидону в напрямі аж до Ґерару, аж до Ґази, у напрямі аж до Содому, і до Гомори, і до Адми, і до Цевоїму, аж до Лашу.

    And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; then as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

    Оце сини Хамові, за їхніми родами, за мовами їхніми, у їхніх країнах, у їхніх наро́дах.

    These were the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands and in their nations.

    А Симові — теж народились йому, він батько всіх синів Еверових, брат старший Яфетів.
  • 21
    And children were born also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, [d]the brother of Japheth the elder.

    Сини Симові: Елам, і Ашшур, і Арпахшад, і Луд, і Арам.
  • 22
    The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.
  • 23
    А Арамові сини: Уц, і Хул, і Ґетер, і Маш.
  • 23
    The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and [e]Mash.
  • 24
    А Арпахшад породив Шелаха, а Шелах породив Евера.
  • 24
    [f]Arphaxad begot Salah, and Salah begot Eber.
  • 25
    А Еверові народилося двоє синів: ім'я першому Пелеґ, бо за днів його поділилась земля, а ймення його брата — Йоктан.

    To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was [g]Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

    А Йоктан породив Алмодада, і Шелефа, і Хасар-Мавета, і Єраха,

    Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
  • 27
    і Гадорама, і Узала, і Диклу,

    Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
  • 28
    і Увала, і Авімаїла, і Шеву,
  • 28
    [h]Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
  • 29
    і Офіра, і Хавілу, і Йовава. Усі вони — сини Йоктанові.

    Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

    А оселя їхня була від Меші в напрямі аж до Сефару, гори східньої.

    And their dwelling place was from Mesha as you go toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.

    Оце сини Симові, за їхніми родами, за мовами їхніми, у їхніх країнах, у їхніх народах.

    These were the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands, according to their nations.

    Оце роди синів Ноєвих, за нащадками їхніми, у їхніх народах. І народи від них поділились на землі по пото́пі.

    These were the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, in their nations; and from these the nations were divided on the earth after the flood.
