Господь Саваот тебе громом та трусом наві́дає, і шумом великим, вихром та бурею, та огняни́м їдким по́лум'ям.

бо вилив Господь на вас духа глибокого сну та закрив ваші очі, затьма́рив пророків і ваших голів та прови́дців!

І промовив Господь: За те, що наро́д цей уста́ми своїми набли́жується, і губами своїми шанує Мене, але серце своє віддалив він від Мене, а страх їхній до Мене — заучена заповідь лю́дська,

тому Я ось ізно́ву предивне вчиню́ з цим наро́дом, вчиню чудо й диво, і загине мудрість премудрих його, а розум розумних його заховається.

For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

Горе тим, що гли́боко за́дум ховають від Господа, і чиняться в те́мряві їхні діла, і що говорять вони: „Хто нас бачить, і хто про нас знає?“

О, ваша фальшивосте! Чи ганча́р уважається рівним до глини? Чи зро́блене скаже про майстра свого: „Він мене не зробив“, а твір про свого творця́ говоритиме: „Він не розуміє цього“?
Surely you have things turned around!

І в той день слова книжки почують глухі, а очі сліпих із темно́ти та з те́мряви бачити будуть,

і суми́рні побі́льшать у Господі радість свою, а люди убогі в Святому Ізраїля ті́шитись будуть!

Бо скінчи́вся наси́льник, і минувся насмі́шник, і пони́щені всі ті, хто дба́є про кривду,
