Бел упав на коліна, зігнувся Нево́, — стали і́доли їхні для звіри́ни й худоби. Те, що колись ви носили, накладене, мов той тяга́р на худобу пому́чену.
Babylon's Idols
Bel is bowed down, Nebo bendeth; their idols are upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: the things ye carried are laid on, a burden to the weary [beast].

Зігнулися й ра́зом упали вони на коліна; не могли врятува́ти тягара́, і самі до поло́ну пішли.
They bend, they are bowed down together; they could not deliver the burden, and themselves are gone into captivity.
Почуйте Мене, доме Яковів, та ввесь за́лишку дому Ізраїлевого, яких від живота Я підняв, носив від утро́би,
Hearken unto me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, ye who have been borne from the belly, who have been carried from the womb:
і Я буду Той Самий до ста́рости вашої, і до сивини вас носи́тиму, Я вчинив, і Я буду носити, й Я дви́гатиму й поряту́ю!
Even to old age, I [am] HE, and unto hoary hairs I will carry [you]: It is I that have made, and I will bear, and I will carry, and will deliver.
До ко́го Мене ви вподо́бите та прирівня́єте, до кого подібним Мене́ ви учините, щоб схожому бути?
To whom will ye liken me and make me equal, or compare me, that we may be like?
Ті, що золото сиплють з киси́, срібло ж важать вагою, вина́ймлюють золотаря́, щоб із того їм бога зробив, і перед ним вони падають та поклоня́ються,
-- They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance; they hire a goldsmith, and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
носять його на плечі́, підіймають його, і ставлять його на місці його. І стоїть, і з місця свого́ він не рухається; коли ж хто до нього кричить, то він не відпові́сть, і не врятує його від недолі.
They bear him on the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place; there he standeth, he doth not remove from his place: yea, one crieth unto him, and he answereth not; he saveth him not out of his trouble.
Пам'ятайте про це та змужні́йте, візьміть це на розум, прови́нники!
Remember this, and shew yourselves men; call it to mind, ye transgressors.
Пам'ятайте про давнє, відвічне, бо Я Бог, і немає більш Бога, й ніко́го, як Я,
Remember the former things of old; for I [am] God, and there is none else; [I am] God, and there is none like me;
що звіщаю кінець від поча́тку, і напере́д — що не сталося ще, і що говорю́: „Мій за́мір відбу́деться, і всяке жада́ння Своє Я вчиню́“,
declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;
що хижого пта́ха зо схо́ду прикли́кую, з кра́ю далекого мужа Своєї поради! Так, Я сказав — те й спрова́джу, що Я задумав був — теє зроблю́!
calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. Yea, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
Почуйте Мене, твердосе́рді, далекі від справедливости!
Hearken unto me, ye stout-hearted, that are far from righteousness:
