Israel Refined for God’s Glory
Hear this, O house of Jacob,
who are called by the name of Israel,
and who came from the waters of Judah,
who swear by the name of the Lord
and confess the God of Israel,
but not in truth or right.

Бо від міста святого вони прозива́ються та на Бога Ізраїлевого спира́ються, — Йому Йме́ння Госпо́дь Савао́т!
For they call themselves after the holy city,
and stay themselves on the God of Israel;

Я відда́вна звіща́в про минуле, — із уст Моїх вийшло воно й розповів Я про нього, рапто́вно зробив, — і прийшло.
“The former things I declared of old;

Тому́, що Я знав, що впе́ртий ти є, твоя ж шия — то м'я́зи залізні, а чо́ло твоє — мідяне́,

то звіщав Я відда́вна тобі, іще поки прийшло, розповів Я тобі, щоб ти не говорив: „Мій божо́к це зробив, а про це наказав мій бовва́н та мій і́дол“.

Ти чув, — перегля́нь усе це; і ви хіба не визнає́те цього́? Тепер розповів Я тобі новини́ й таємни́ці, яких ти не знав.
“You have heard; now see all this;
and will you not declare it?
From this time forth I announce to you new things,
hidden things that you have not known.

Тепе́р вони ство́рені, а не відда́вна, а пе́ред цим днем ти не чув був про них, щоб не сказати: „Оце я їх знав“.

Та не чув ти й не знав, і відда́вна ти не відкривав свого ву́ха, бо Я знав, що напе́вно ти зра́диш, і зва́но тебе від утро́би: пере́вертень.

Ради Йме́ння Свого́ Я спиня́ю Свій гнів, і ради слави Своєї Я стри́муюся проти те́бе, щоб не зни́щити тебе.
“For my name’s sake I defer my anger;
for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you,
that I may not cut you off.

Оце перетопи́в Я тебе, але не як те срі́бло, у го́рні недолі тебе досліди́в.
Ради Себе, ради Себе роблю́, бо як буде збезче́щене Йме́ння Моє? А іншому слави Своєї не дам.
Почуй Мене, Якове та Ізраїлю, Мій поклика́ний: Це Я, Я перший, також Я останній!

“Listen to me, O Jacob,
and Israel, whom I called!
I am he; I am the first,

Теж рука Моя землю закла́ла, і небо напну́ла прави́ця Моя, — Я закли́чу до них — і вони стануть ра́зом.

Зберіться ви всі та й послухайте: Хто́ серед вас розповів був про те? Кого Господь любить, вчи́нить волю Його в Вавилоні, раме́но ж Його на халде́ях.

he shall perform his purpose on Babylon,
and his arm shall be against the Chaldeans.

Я, Я говорив і покликав його, спрова́див його, і він на дорозі своїй буде мати пово́дження.

Набли́зьтесь до Мене, послухайте це: Споконві́ку Я не говорив потає́мно; від ча́су, як ді́ялось це, Я був там. А тепер послав Мене Господь Бог та Його Дух.

Гак говорить Господь, твій Відкупи́тель, Святий Ізраїлів: Я — Господь, Бог твій, що навчає тебе про кори́сне, що провадить тебе по дорозі, якою ти маєш ходити.
Thus says the Lord,
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:

who teaches you to profit,
who leads you in the way you should go.

О, коли б ти прислу́хувався до Моїх заповідей, то був би твій спо́кій, як рі́чка, а твоя справедли́вість, немов морські хвилі!

Then your peace would have been like a river,
and your righteousness like the waves of the sea;

Ви́рушіть із Вавилону, втечі́ть від халде́їв, радісним співом звісті́ть, оце розголосі́ть, аж до кра́ю землі рознесіть це, скажіть: Господь викупив раба Свого Якова!
