The Sabbath Year
The Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying,

„Промовляй до Ізраїлевих синів, та й скажеш їм: Коли ви вві́йдете до землі, що Я даю вам, то святкува́тиме земля та суботу для Господа.
“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land that I give you, the land shall keep a Sabbath to the Lord.
Шість літ будеш засівати своє поле, і шість літ обтина́тимеш свого виноградника, і збиратимеш урожай його,
For six years you shall sow your field, and for six years you shall prune your vineyard and gather in its fruits,
а сьомого року — субота повного відпочинку буде для землі, повний відпочинок, субота для Господа: поля свого не будеш обсіювати, а виноградинка свого не будеш обтина́ти.
but in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to the Lord. You shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard.
Саморо́слого колосу жнив твоїх не будеш жати, а ґрон з необрізаних виногра́дин твоїх не збиратимеш, — рік повного відпочинку буде для землі.
You shall not reap what grows of itself in your harvest, or gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.
І те, що саме́ вродиться в цім відпочинку землі, буде для вас на їжу, — для тебе, і для раба твого, і для невільниці твоєї, і для наємника твого, і для осілого твого, що мешкають з тобою,
і для скотини твоєї, і для звірини, що в кра́ї твоїм, — буде ввесь урожай його́ на їжу.
and for your cattle and for the wild animals that are in your land: all its yield shall be for food.
І відлічиш собі сім субо́тніх років, по сім років сім раз, і будуть для тебе дні семи суботніх років сорок літ і дев'ять.
І засу́рмите у су́рми сьомого місяця, десятого дня місяця, — в день Очи́щення засу́рмите в су́рми по цілому кра́ю.
Then you shall sound the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month. On the Day of Atonement you shall sound the trumpet throughout all your land.
І освятите рік п'ятдесятріччя, і оголосите волю в краю́ для всіх ме́шканців його́, — ювіле́й він буде для вас: і ве́рнеться кожен до своєї посілости, і кожен до родини своєї ве́рнеться.
And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan.
Ювіле́й цей рік п'ятдесятріччя буде для вас: не будете сіяти, і не будете жати саморо́слі коло́сся її, і не будете збирати грон з необрізаних виногра́дин їх,
That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee for you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of itself nor gather the grapes from the undressed vines.
бо це ювілей, святощі будуть для вас, — з поля бу́дете їсти врожай його́.
У році того ювілею ве́рнетесь кожен до своєї посілости.
“In this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his property.
А коли продасте́ що своєму ближньому, або купите з руки свого бли́жнього, не обманюйте один о́дного.
And if you make a sale to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor, you shall not wrong one another.
За числом років по ювілеї купиш від ближнього свого, за числом років урожаю він продасть тобі.
You shall pay your neighbor according to the number of years after the jubilee, and he shall sell to you according to the number of years for crops.
За многістю літ побі́льшиш ціну́ тієї купі́влі, а за малістю літ зме́ншиш ціну́ тієї купі́влі, бо він продає тобі число літ урожаю.
If the years are many, you shall increase the price, and if the years are few, you shall reduce the price, for it is the number of the crops that he is selling to you.
І не обманите один о́дного, і будеш боятися Бога свого́, бо Я — Господь, Бог ваш!
You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God, for I am the Lord your God.
І ви ви́конаєте постанови Мої, а уста́ви Мої будете держати, і будете виконувати їх, — і безпе́чно сидітимете на землі.
“Therefore you shall do my statutes and keep my rules and perform them, and then you will dwell in the land securely.
І земля дасть плід свій, а ви будете їсти доси́та, і безпечно сидітимете на ній.
The land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and dwell in it securely.
А коли ви скажете: Що́ бу́демо їсти сьо́мого року, тож не бу́демо сіяти, не бу́демо збирати врожаї свої?
And if you say, ‘What shall we eat in the seventh year, if we may not sow or gather in our crop?’
І зошлю Я благослове́ння Своє на вас шо́стого року, — і зродить врожай на три роки.
I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, so that it will produce a crop sufficient for three years.
І будете сіяти во́сьмий той рік, і будете їсти з старих урожаїв аж до року дев'ятого, — аж до ви́росту врожаю його будете їсти старе.
When you sow in the eighth year, you will be eating some of the old crop; you shall eat the old until the ninth year, when its crop arrives.
А земля не буде продаватися наза́вжди, бо Моя та земля, бо ви прихо́дьки та осілі в Мене.
Redemption of Property
“The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine. For you are strangers and sojourners with me.
“The land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine. For you are strangers and sojourners with me.
А ви в усій землі вашої посілости дозволяйте ви́куп землі.
And in all the country you possess, you shall allow a redemption of the land.
Коли збідні́є твій брат, і продасть із своєї посілости, то при́йде вику́пник його, близьки́й йому, — і викупить про́даж брата свого.
“If your brother becomes poor and sells part of his property, then his nearest redeemer shall come and redeem what his brother has sold.
А чоловік, коли не буде йому викупника, а рука його стане спроможна, і зна́йде потрібне на викуп його,
If a man has no one to redeem it and then himself becomes prosperous and finds sufficient means to redeem it,
то облічить він літа́ про́дажу свого, і ве́рне позостале чоловікові, що продав йому, та й ве́рнеться до своєї посілости.
let him calculate the years since he sold it and pay back the balance to the man to whom he sold it, and then return to his property.
А якщо рука його не зна́йде потрібного на заплату йому, то буде про́даж його в руці покупця́ його аж до ювілейного року, — і ви́йде він в ювілеї, та й ве́рнеться до посілости своєї.
But if he does not have sufficient means to recover it, then what he sold shall remain in the hand of the buyer until the year of jubilee. In the jubilee it shall be released, and he shall return to his property.
А коли хто продасть мешкальний дім в обмуро́ваному місті, то викуп його буде до кінця року від часу про́дажу його, — рік буде на викуп його.
“If a man sells a dwelling house in a walled city, he may redeem it within a year of its sale. For a full year he shall have the right of redemption.
А якщо він не буде ви́куплений аж до кінця року, то стане той дім, що в місті, яке має мур, наза́вжди для покупця́ його на покоління його, — не вийде він в ювілеї.
If it is not redeemed within a full year, then the house in the walled city shall belong in perpetuity to the buyer, throughout his generations; it shall not be released in the jubilee.
А доми́ в оселях, що не мають муру навколо, до поля землі буде те прирахо́ване, — і буде йому викуп, і в ювілеї він вийде.
But the houses of the villages that have no wall around them shall be classified with the fields of the land. They may be redeemed, and they shall be released in the jubilee.
А міста́ Левитів, доми́ в містах їх посілости — викуп для Леви́тів за́вжди буде можливий.
As for the cities of the Levites, the Levites may redeem at any time the houses in the cities they possess.
А хто викупить від Левитів, то про́даж дому й міста посілости його вийде в ювілеї, бо то доми міст Левитів, їхня посілість серед Ізраїлевих синів.
And if one of the Levites exercises his right of redemption, then the house that was sold in a city they possess shall be released in the jubilee. For the houses in the cities of the Levites are their possession among the people of Israel.
А пасови́сько навко́ло їхніх міст не буде про́дане, бо це вічна посілість для них.
But the fields of pastureland belonging to their cities may not be sold, for that is their possession forever.
А коли збідніє твій брат, а його рука неспромо́жною стане, то підтри́маєш його, прихо́дько він чи осілий, — і житиме він із тобою.
Kindness for Poor Brothers
“If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you.
“If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you.
Не ві́зьмеш від нього ли́хви та прибу́тку, і будеш боятися Бога свого, — і житиме брат твій з тобою.
Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you.
Срібла свого не даси йому на ли́хву, і на прибуток не даси їжі своєї.
You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit.
Я Господь, Бог ваш, що вивів вас із єгипетського кра́ю, щоб дати вам ханаанську зе́млю, щоб бути вашим Богом.
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.
А коли збідніє брат твій при тобі, і буде про́даний тобі, то не будеш робити ним праці раба, —
“If your brother becomes poor beside you and sells himself to you, you shall not make him serve as a slave:
як на́ймит, як осілий він при тобі, аж до ювілейного року буде він працювати тобі.
he shall be with you as a hired worker and as a sojourner. He shall serve with you until the year of the jubilee.
І вийде від тебе він та сини його з ним, і ве́рнеться він до роди́ни своєї, і до посілости батьків своїх ве́рнеться він:
Then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and go back to his own clan and return to the possession of his fathers.
бо вони — Мої раби, що Я вивів їх з єгипетського кра́ю, не будуть вони про́дані про́дажем раба.
Не будеш володіти ним жорстоко, і будеш боятися Бога свого.
You shall not rule over him ruthlessly but shall fear your God.
А раб твій та невільниця твоя, що будуть твої, будуть із наро́дів, що навко́ло вас, — із них купите раба й невільницю.
As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you.
А також із синів осілих, що мешкають з вами, з них купите та з племені їхнього, що з вами, що породили в Кра́ї вашім, — і будуть вони вам на посілість.
You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property.
І передасте́ їх, як спа́дщину, вашим синам по вас на спа́док посілости навіки, ними бу́дете робити, а брата́ми вашими, синами Ізраїлевими, один о́дним, не будете володіти жорстоко.
You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly.
А коли рука прихо́дька чи осілого при тобі спромо́жна, а брат твій збідніє при ньому, і буде про́даний прихо́дькові чи осілому в тебе, або наща́дкові племени прихо́дька,
Redeeming a Poor Man
“If a stranger or sojourner with you becomes rich, and your brother beside him becomes poor and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner with you or to a member of the stranger’s clan,
“If a stranger or sojourner with you becomes rich, and your brother beside him becomes poor and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner with you or to a member of the stranger’s clan,
то по́тім, як буде про́даний, викуп буде йому, — один із братів його викупить його,
then after he is sold he may be redeemed. One of his brothers may redeem him,
або дя́дько його, або син дядька його викупить його, або з однокровних його, із роду його викупить його, або спроможна рука його, — і буде ви́куплений.
or his uncle or his cousin may redeem him, or a close relative from his clan may redeem him. Or if he grows rich he may redeem himself.
І облічить він із тим, хто набув його, від року про́дажу його́ аж до ювілейного року, — і буде ціна про́дажу його за числом літ; як за дні наймита буде полічено йому.
He shall calculate with his buyer from the year when he sold himself to him until the year of jubilee, and the price of his sale shall vary with the number of years. The time he was with his owner shall be rated as the time of a hired worker.
Якщо ще багато літ, то згідно з ними він верне свій викуп із срібла́ його купівлі.
If there are still many years left, he shall pay proportionately for his redemption some of his sale price.
А якщо позостало мало літ до ювілейного року, то облічить йому, — згідно з роками його верне свого ви́купа.
If there remain but a few years until the year of jubilee, he shall calculate and pay for his redemption in proportion to his years of service.
Як щорічний наймит він буде при ньому, — він не буде жорсто́ко панувати над ним на твоїх оча́х.
He shall treat him as a worker hired year by year. He shall not rule ruthlessly over him in your sight.
А якщо він не буде ви́куплений у тих роках, то вийде ювілейного року він та сини його з ним,
And if he is not redeemed by these means, then he and his children with him shall be released in the year of jubilee.
