    Бо Царство Небесне подібне одно́му госпо́дареві, що вдо́світа вийшов згодити робітників у свій виноградник.

    The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard

    “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

    Згодившися ж він із робі́тниками по дина́рію за день, послав їх до свого виноградника.
  • 2
    Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
  • 3
    А вийшовши коло години десь третьої, побачив він інших, що стояли без праці на ринку,
  • 3
    And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
  • 4
    та й каже до них: „Ідіть і ви до мого виноградника, і що́ буде належати, дам вам“.
  • 4
    and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went.
  • 5
    Вони ж відійшли. І вийшов він знов о годині десь шостій й дев'ятій, і те саме зробив.

    Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.
  • 6
    А вийшовши коло години одина́дцятої, знайшов інших, що стояли без праці, та й каже до них: „Чого тут стоїте́ цілий день безробітні?“

    And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing [a]idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’
  • 7
    Вони кажуть до нього: „Бо ніхто не найняв нас“. Відказує їм: „Ідіть і ви в виноградник“.

    They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, [b]and whatever is right you will receive.’
  • 8
    Коли ж вечір настав, то говорить тоді до свого управителя пан виноградника: „Поклич робі́тників, і дай їм заплату, почавши з останніх до перших“.

    “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’
  • 9
    І прийшли ті, що з години одинадцятої, і взяли по дина́рію.
  • 9
    And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius.
  • 10
    Коли ж прийшли перші, то ду́мали, що вони візьмуть більше. Та й вони по динару взяли́.

    But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius.
  • 11
    А взявши, вони почали́ наріка́ти на господаря,
  • 11
    And when they had received it, they [c]complained against the landowner,
  • 12
    кажучи: „Ці останні годину одну працювали, а ти прирівняв їх до нас, що витерпіли тягар дня та спеко́ту“.

    saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’
  • 13
    А він відповів і сказав до одно́го із них: „Не кривджу я, друже, тебе, — хіба не за динарія згодився зо мною?
  • 13
    But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?
  • 14
    Візьми ти своє та й іди. Але я хочу дати й цьому́ ось останньому, як і тобі.
  • 14
    Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.
  • 15
    Чи ж не вільно мені зо своїм, що я хо́чу, зробити? Хіба око твоє за́здре від того, що я добрий?“
  • 15
    Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’
  • 16
    Отак будуть останні першими, а перші — останніми!“
  • 16
    So the last will be first, and the first last. For[d] many are called, but few chosen.”

    Побажавши ж піти до Єрусалиму, Ісус взяв осібно Дванадцятьо́х, і на дорозі їм сповістив:

    Jesus a Third Time Predicts His Death and Resurrection

    Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them,
  • 18
    „Оце в Єрусалим ми йдемо́, — і первосвященикам і книжникам ви́даний буде Син Лю́дський, — і засудять на смерть Його.
  • 18
    “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,
  • 19
    І поганам Його вони видадуть — на нару́гу та на катува́ння, і на розп'яття́, — але третього дня Він воскресне!“
  • 19
    and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”
  • 20
    Тоді приступила до Нього мати синів Зеведеєвих, і вклонилась, і просила від Нього чогось.

    Greatness Is Serving

    Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.

    А Він їй сказав: „Чого хочеш?“ Вона каже Йому́: „Скажи, щоб оби́два сини мої ці сіли в Царстві Твоїм — право́руч один, і ліво́руч від Тебе один“.

    And He said to her, “What do you wish?”
    She said to Him, “Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”

    А Ісус відповів і сказав: „Не знаєте, чого просите. Чи ж можете ви пити чашу, що Я її питиму (або христи́тися хрищенням, що я ним хрищу́ся)?“ „Вони кажуть Йому: „Можемо“.

    But Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, [e]and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”
    They said to Him, “We are able.”

    Він говорить до них: „Ви питимете Мою чашу (і бу́дете христитися хрищенням, що Я ним хрищуся). А сидіти право́руч Мене та ліво́руч — не Моє це давати, а кому від Мого Отця те вгото́вано“.

    So He said to them, “You will indeed drink My cup, [f]and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”

    Як почули це де́сятеро, стали гніватися на обох тих братів.
  • 24
    And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers.
  • 25
    А Ісус їх покликав і промовив: „Ви знаєте, що князі наро́дів панують над ними, а вельможі їх тиснуть.
  • 25
    But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.

    Не так буде між вами, але́ хто великим із вас хоче бути, — хай буде слугою він вам.

    Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.
  • 27
    А хто з вас бути першим бажає, — нехай буде він вам за раба.
  • 27
    And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave —
  • 28
    Так само й Син Лю́дський прийшов не на те, щоб служили Йому, а щоб послужити, і душу Свою дати на викуп за багатьох!

    just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

    Як вони ж з Єрихо́ну вихо́дили, за Ним ішов на́товп великий.

    Two Blind Men Receive Their Sight

    Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him.

    І ось двоє сліпих, що сиділи при дорозі, почувши, що переходить Ісус, стали кричати, благаючи: „Змилуйсь над нами, Господи, Сину Давидів!“

    And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

    Наро́д же сварився на них, щоб мовчали, вони ж іще більше кричали, благаючи: „Змилуйсь над нами, Господи, Сину Давидів!“

    Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

    Ісус же спинився, — покликав їх та й сказав: „Що́ хочете, щоб Я вам зробив?“

    So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

    Вони Йому кажуть: „Господи, — нехай нам розкриються очі!“
  • 33
    They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.”
  • 34
    І змилосе́рдивсь Ісус, доторкнувся до їхніх оче́й, — і зараз прозріли їм очі, і вони подалися за Ним.

    So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
