І Він зно́ву до синагоги ввійшов. І був там один чоловік, який мав суху руку.

Healing on the Sabbath

And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.

2

І, щоб обвинуватити Його, наглядали за Ним, чи Він у суботу того не вздоро́вить.

So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might [a]accuse Him.

3

І говорить Він до чоловіка з сухою рукою: „Стань посере́дині!“

And He said to the man who had the withered hand, [b]“Step forward.”

4

А до них промовляє: „У суботу годи́ться робити добре, чи робити лихе, життя зберегти, чи погуби́ти?“ Вони ж мовчали.

Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

5

І спогля́нув Він із гнівом на них, засму́чений закам'яні́лістю їхніх серде́ць, і сказав чоловікові: „Простягни свою руку!“ І той простяг, — і рука йому стала здорова!

And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored [c]as whole as the other.

Фарисеї ж негайно пішли та з іродія́нами раду зробили на Нього, — як Його погубити.

Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.

7

А Ісус із Своїми у́чнями вийшов над море. І на́товп великий ішов вслід за Ним із Галілеї й з Юдеї,

A Great Multitude Follows Jesus

But Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea. And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea

8

і з Єрусалиму, і з Ідуме́ї, і з-за Йорда́ння, і з Ти́ру й Сидо́ну. На́товп великий, прочувши, як багато чинив Він, зібрався до Нього.

and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how many things He was doing, came to Him.

9

І сказав Він до у́чнів Своїх нагото́вити чо́вна Йому, через натовп, щоб до Нього не ти́снулись.

9

So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should crush Him.

10

Бо Він багатьох уздоро́вив, так що хто тільки не́мочі мав, то ти́слись до Нього, щоб Його доторкну́тись.

10

For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.

11

І ду́хи нечисті, як тільки вбачали Його, то падали ницьма перед Ним, і кричали й казали: „Ти Син Божий!“

And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, “You are the Son of God.”

12

А Він їм суво́ро наказував, щоб вони Його не виявля́ли.

But He sternly warned them that they should not make Him known.

13

І Він вийшов на го́ру, і покликав, кого Сам хотів; вони ж приступили до Нього.

The Twelve Apostles

And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him.

14

І визначив Дванадцятьо́х, щоб із Ним перебува́ли, і щоб послати на проповідь їх,

Then He appointed twelve, [d]that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,

15

і щоб мали вони вла́ду вздоровля́ти неду́ги й виго́нити де́монів.

and to have [e]power [f]to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:

16

І визначив Він оцих Дванадцятьо́х: Си́мона, і дав йому ймення Петро,

16

[g]Simon, to whom He gave the name Peter;

17

і Якова Зеведе́євого, і Івана, брата Якова, і дав їм імена Воанерге́с, цебто „сини гро́мові“,

17

James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is, “Sons of Thunder”;

18

і Андрія, і Пилипа, і Вартоломі́я, і Матві́я, і Хому́, і Якова Алфі́євого, і Таде́я, і Си́мона Канані́та

18

Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Cananite;

19

та Юду Іскаріо́тського, що й видав Його.

and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. And they went into a house.

20

І приходять до дому вони. І знову зібралось наро́ду, що вони не могли навіть хліба з'їсти.

20

A House Divided Cannot Stand

Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

21

І коли Його ближчі почули, то вийшли, щоб узяти Його, бо говорено, ніби Він несамови́тий.

21

But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.”

22

А книжники, що поприхо́дили з Єрусалиму, казали: Має Він Вельзеву́ла, і виганяє де́монів силою князя де́монів.

22

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”

23

І, закликавши їх, Він у при́тчах до них промовляв: „Як може сатана́ сатану́ виганяти?

23

So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan?

24

І коли царство поділиться супроти себе, — не може всто́яти те царство.

24

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25

І коли дім поділиться супроти себе, — не може всто́яти той дім.

25

And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26

І коли б сатана сам на се́бе повстав і поділився, то не зможе всто́яти він, але згине.

26

And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.

27

Ніхто бо не може вде́ртись у дім дужого, та й пограбувати добро його, якщо перше не зв'яже дужого, і аж тоді пограбує госпо́ду його.

27

No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

28

Поправді кажу́ вам, що про́стяться лю́дським синам усі про́гріхи та богозневаги, хоч би як вони богозневажали.

The Unpardonable Sin

“Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter;

29

Але, хто богознева́жить Духа Святого, — повіки йому не відпуститься, але́ гріху вічному він підпадає“.

29

but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation” —

30

Бож казали вони: „Він духа нечистого має“.

30

because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

31

І поприхо́дили мати Його та брати Його, і, о́сторонь ставши, послали до Нього і Його виклика́ли.

Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Send for Him

Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.

32

А наро́д кругом Нього сидів. І сказали Йому: „Ото мати Твоя, і брати Твої, і се́стри Твої он про Тебе питаються о́сторонь“.

32

And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers [h]are outside seeking You.”

33

А Він їм відповів і сказав: „Хто́ Моя мати й брати?“

But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?”

34

І поглянув на тих, що круг Нього сиділи, і промовив: „Ось мати Моя та бра́ття Мої!

34

And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!

35

Бо хто Божу волю чинитиме, то́й Мені брат, і сестра, і мати“.

35

For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
