The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

пасіть стадо Боже, що у вас, наглядайте не з примусу, але добровільно по-Божому, не для брудної наживи, а ревно,
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
не пануйте над спа́дком Божим, але будьте для стада за взір.
Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
А коли Архипа́стир з'я́виться, то одержите ви нев'яну́чого вінка́ слави.
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Також молоді, — коріться ста́ршим! А всі майте покору один до о́дного, бо „Бог проти́виться гордим, а смиренним дає благода́ть!“
Cast Your Cares on Him
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Тож покоріться під міцну́ Божу руку, щоб Він вас Свого ча́су пови́щив.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Покладіть на Нього всю вашу журбу́, бо Він опікується вами!
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Будьте твере́зі, пильнуйте! Ваш супроти́вник — диявол — ходить, ричучи́, як лев, що шукає пожерти кого́.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Противтесь йому́, тверді в вірі, знавши, що ті самі му́ки трапляються й вашому братству по світу.
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
А Бог усякої благодаті, що покликав вас до вічної слави Своєї в Христі, нехай Сам удоскона́лить вас, хто трохи поте́рпів, хай упе́внить, зміцни́ть, уґрунтує.
